Interesting that even older Android TV can just install VIU, Netflix and Disney+ app from Play Store and work without any issue yet Sony limit the models for Apple TV and side loading also cannot work which is so stupid. :s22:

It have to do with licensing deal between Sony and Apple Tv. Sony is just willing to pay for certain model for cost reason. As for app being avaiable at Google playstore is up to the App owner to release it there for free or for in app purchase.

I have seen over the years Sony embedded Apps got terminated over time. This is purely Business/Marketing strategy.

few months away lol....i am salivating.

A80J [77” class, 65” class and 55” class models] OLED TV features:

Cognitive Processor XR understands how humans see and hear, providing a revolutionary experience that completely immerses viewers in their favourite content
XR OLED Contrast adjusts brightness for higher peaks in glare and deeper blacks in shadow while XR Triluminos Pro enables a wider palette to reproduce each colour with the subtle differences seen in the real world
XR Motion Clarity technology controls moving images precisely to minimise blur so that pictures remain true with less loss in brightness during high speed scenes
Improved Acoustic Surface Audio+ technology delivers more accurate sound positioning and cinematic surround sound, providing pictures and sound in perfect harmony
Three-way stand provides three stand position options, including a narrow position for a smaller footprint, hero position to eliminate distractions and sound bar position to elevate the TV and integrate a soundbar system
Quick access to an array of content and services with Google TV
Easy connectivity to most devices, including Apple® AirPlay® 2 and HomeKit™6 7
Works with Google Assistant
XR 4K Upscaling technology upscales 2K signals close to true 4K quality for incredibly real and detailed pictures
HDMI 2.1 compatibility, including 4K 120fps, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)2 , Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and e-ARC
Support for Dolby Vision® HDR and Dolby Atmos® immersive audio will transform entertainment with ultra-vivid picture quality and incredible moving sound8
Ambient Optimisation optimises picture and sound quality in any environment
Minimalist one slate design with Metal Flush Surface embraces the screen in a single pane of glass that’s naturally elegant and keeps viewers focused on the picture without distraction
Hands-free voice search works alongside Google Assistant to provide a smarter viewing experience[ii]
Netflix Calibrated Mode offers studio-quality Netflix content
Calman® Ready offers advanced calibration capabilities and the ability to fine-tune adjustments simply not possible through conventional picture settings

Sony claims can upscale 2K to almost 4K what's next...Full HD close to 4K in the future? You'll never know this will happen. (i wish) lol
I don't care what others say. you cannot create something out of nothing but seriously upscaling technology is getting better and better. Looking forward to XR processing.

unfortunately YT interface is not exactly the same as in Computers.

I am not sure this is the same. Need 3 steps sequence.
Right, Bottom and Centre button.

Does Sony TV support Disney+? My Sony 49X7500H keep getting Error Code 83. While that is for server overload, i am able to enter Disney+ via phones, desktop and Xiaomi 43" 4S TV. Only Sony TV cant enter.

Curious anyone here still uses old Sony 4K TV like 2017 models?
I know such models by now the warranty should be up but
lucky for me I took up extended warranty by Courts.

The issue of my X8000E TV I suspect could be due to Android 9 update
as well as TV lag quite bad in the past.
Been using it for so long but the lag is quite annoying.

Recently it showed a horizontal line at the bottom so I called for servicing.
Past few days the technician came to replace a board inside
the TV, luckily it was not a panel issue if not....
After the service so far so good, key thing is not that as lag as before.

And also anyone had issue with Google Play movies?
I could not play any movies whether brought or rented.
Unless I uninstall the update to the app, it will work.

I have reported to Google, hopefully they fix it.

Sorry, never tried Google play movies.. I have subscribed to Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and Apple TV+, too much content to watch now.

BTW, there is a software update today.. my Z9F just got updated.

Android Security Patch Level is now 5 Dec 2020, it was previously a Sep 2020 date. Kernel Version is now 4.9.125, dated 3 Feb 2021.

It seems to be a poorly prepared initial rollout as the TV throws out a text window with some programming error msg when I checked on its details the first time.

Agreed.. with those subscriptions...too much content. Me too. hehehehe

But i am more into Live TV streaming. My personal opinion, Android TV is the best platform to go for. Too many player apps to chose from.

For those whose profile is like me, not into highest specs verbatim, especially older person, neighbour country FTA TV channels you've always watched all your live got cut off - You wont go wrong getting Android TV.

It is so convenience ( don't need external box ) use same remote control can get 1080 quality is fantastic. This quality is so much better than your old analogue TV broadcast. And the best thing - with spoilt for choice players app to choose from, can get the channels for free. Just need to do some searching.

Don't get me wrong, i am not into 10K channels of content. Who the hell in the World go for this. Even 1 or 2 neighbouring channels i am very contented. All VOD content are from the standard Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime and Apple TV+.

Dont think Samsung or LG smart TV have much choice in their Content Stores against Google Playstore.

Just my 2 cents. :)
