Wonder whether Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra will be better. Carousell got ppl selling away Sony and keeping Bose
Hmmm... I wonder why...

But I've never used the Bose Quiet Comfort before, so unable to comment.

There's eq to set your sound quality so it's good. We had sharing of the best eq settings you can go back a few pages and read up.

Those who kept the Bose probably like the brand better or it sounded better right off the box.

Heard Bose is the no 1 when it comes to ANC. But don’t seems like a popular brand

AI will definitely make some errors here and there, but at least its a good reference point to do more research on particular attributes that matters more to you in other online reviews.

1. Design, Build & Comfort:

ProsCons
Sleek & stylish: Ditch the bulky buds of the past, these earbuds boast a streamlined, minimalist design. One size (almost) fits all: While generally comfy, the new design might not be perfect for smaller ears.
Memory foam magic: New ear tips hug your ears snugly, ensuring fatigue-free listening even during marathons. Not the pocket rockets: They're not the slimmest case on the block, but still portable enough for everyday carry.
Premium feel: High-quality construction and subtle metallic accents ooze sophistication.Memory foam mystery: Not everyone loves the squishy-soft feel, try them on before committing.

2. Connectivity:

ProsCons
Rock-solid Bluetooth 5.2: Say goodbye to dropouts and stutters, this connection is as smooth as your favorite vinyl.Gamers, take note: No aptX Low Latency means a slight audio delay in fast-paced games.
Multipoint maestro: Juggling devices? Switch seamlessly between phone, laptop, and tablet with multipoint pairing.Limited codec support: No AAC support might be a dealbreaker for some iPhone users.
Hi-Res Highway: Unleash studio-quality sound with LDAC support, but only if your streaming service and audio files play nice.

3. ANC & Features:

ProsCons
Noise cancellation nirvana: Sony reigns supreme, obliterating ambient noise and letting your music (or silence) truly shine.High-frequency holdouts: Some very high-pitched sounds might still sneak through.
Speak-to-Chat convenience: Music pauses automatically when you start talking, keeping conversations smooth.Chatterbox quirks: The feature can be overzealous, pausing music when you don't intend to talk.
Sound sculpting at your fingertips: Customize your listening experience with ambient sound levels and EQ presets, or create your own sonic masterpiece.

4. Battery:

ProsCons
Powerhouse playtime: Enjoy 8+ hours with ANC on, extendable to 36 hours with the case, ideal for long journeys and music marathons. Not the battery marathoners: Some competitors offer slightly longer playtime.
Fast-charging frenzy: Need a quick juice-up? 10 minutes charges you up for an hour of playback, keeping the music flowing.

5. Microphone:

ProsCons
Crystal-clear conversations: Beamforming technology puts your voice center stage even in noisy environments.

6. Sound Quality:

ProsCons
Balanced bliss: Warm bass, clear mids, and sparkling highs deliver a detailed and immersive experience across genres.Warm embrace: The overall sound signature leans warm, which might not suit those who prefer strictly neutral.
Clarity champion: Compared to predecessors, the XM5 boast improved clarity and definition, especially in the treble range.EQ enigma: No customizable EQ in the app yet, although Sony promises future updates.
Bass with brains: Powerful bass is present but controlled, adding punch and depth without muddying the soundscape.
Audiophile potential: LDAC unlocks studio-quality sound for discerning listeners with compatible files and streaming services.

7. Conclusion:

The Sony WF-1000XM5 are a sonic force to be reckoned with. Their best-in-class ANC, stellar sound quality, and comfortable design make them a top contender for audiophiles, commuters, and music lovers alike. However, the premium price tag, warm sound signature, and lack of some features might give some pause. Ultimately, the decision boils down to your priorities and budget.

If you prioritize:
  • Industry-leading ANC: These are your noise-cancelling champions.
  • Balanced, detailed sound: Warmth, clarity, and depth for most musical tastes.
  • Comfortable and secure fit: Memory foam hugs your ears for fatigue-free listening.
Overall, the Sony WF-1000XM5 are a remarkable achievement in wireless audio technology. Their combination of industry-leading noise cancellation, detailed and immersive sound quality, and comfortable design makes them a top contender for discerning listeners. However, the premium price tag and some missing features might not be dealbreakers for everyone.

From which source you read it frequent disconnect?

i think written in this thread also. Got disconnection.
I have the wf-1000XM5. I am using it with the Sony NW-A306 player. Very bad disconnection issues. Didn't expect this when using both sony products. I'm thinking the problem is with NW-A306 bluetooth weak bluetooth signal or a combination of both having weak bluetooth. I've bought a creative bt-w5 usbc dac dongle and so far it seems good. Strong signal inside the house. Will have to test it when I go out this weekend. (In fact it sounds better with bt-w5 rather than the inbuilt bluetooth).
