Squat 130 4x6
Bench 92.5 5x6 , 3
Deadlift 125 3x5
Going on a bit of ramble below, but that was a really good session.
I was quite worried going into this workout, since it would be doing three big lifts. Yesterday, while doing my regular back massage, I also felt a sharp pain in the back, first time in the past three weeks. I was worried that today I would trigger something off again and have to start from scratch again.
I was feeling a bit tired after doing the squats and bench, but decided to press on with the deadlifts. Just some lighter weights focussing on form and making sure everything in the set up is done well, and controlled lifting.
Somehow, the sumo deadlift's just seem to "click". It's almost like a I felt a direct connection between the mind and the ham/glute muscle, and I could really focus on the glutes lifting the weight.
Sumo is quite different from conventional DL or squats, where you can visualise the movement (in my mind). Sumo works in a 3D plane, so it's not just a straight forward perpendicular leverage to the bar, but an angular leverage. It was lilke my muscles finally "learned" how to load and then execute the lift ...
A bit of ramble, but it's workouts like this that make me feel quite satisfied. Now I hope I can replicate this the next time I go to the gym
