My gym uses lbs at the power rack. I need to convert them to kg for my own sanity.

Dun understand, power rack is just a rack right?
u still use bar bell and load with plates, unless it is the plates itself that come in lbs instead of kg.

I think he meant the weights that are on the power rack are labelled as pounds.. The power rack should be those that comes with those weight plate holders..

Yep.

Confusingly, the weights for deadlifts and rows are in kg, so you notice they are always nice round numbers! :s22:

But it got me thinking - do you know whether the standard oly bar is 20kg or 45 lbs? I always assume its 20kg, but never really confirmed.

Best is you go weigh it yourself, if you can.. Even for Oly bars, there are a variance of weight.. Usually the better ones should be 20 kg or 44 lbs.. But I think should not be much difference la, unless you keep changing bars during different sessions.. Take it as 20 kg lor.. Hahaha..

Anyway, some normal oly bars weigh as light as 15-17 kg.. I think those York and the more expensive ones should usually weigh exactly 20kg..

Some may not be cheapo but because those are so called ladies bar, the grip is thinner but length wise is the same, not the shorter bar. Ladies bar usually 15kg. I have seen a few types, some got color code by the side is yellow means 15kg. some the "stopper" is thinner, i meant stopper is the part where u push in the plates there is a portion bigger than the hole of the plates to block the plates.

Unless you're getting bars from Eleiko, Ivanko, DHS, Zhangkong, Uesaka,or any other IWF brands that are calibrated, it doesn't matter if it's supposedly 20kg or 45lbs, because the difference between the 2 is less than the variance for cheap commercial bars.

Pound Conversion Chart - LoadingCharts.com
found this page after reading your last posting.
I was thinking if eleiko is being used for weightlifting in olympic, there should be some standards as in kg or pound or else how to keep track of world record. Upon google found this chart, maybe u can use for your recording.

World records in the Olympics are all kept in the metric system AFAIK.

I did not ask for egg, although they say can substitute rice for egg or vegetables. I chose vegetables...

Thanks. I tot usually veg u need to pay extra, the set comes with egg and rice, so even u substitute rice for veg there should be egg too, so u just pay for the extra chicken.

5 Aug:

Squat - 88 kg 5x5
Bench - 65.4 kg 5x5
Rows - 55 kg 5x5

BW Dips - 9
Leg raises - 12x2

I think I might stay at 55kg for the Pendlay rows and just improve on form.
