Hi

I am currently looking for a speaker after deciding to sell my Altec Lansing VS2321. They are good, but way too much interference! I have a Creative X-Fi extreme gamer sound card.

I am using speakers mainly for-- music, and movies. I am not a pro-gamer and I don't game that much.

Boomy speakers like Logitech are out though. :s22:

Any audiophiles there willing to recommend me? I am unsure whether surround system suits my needs, or just a basic 2.0 speakers.

I have short-listed a few-- namely the Gigaworks T40, HD50, or even the G500 or the Megaworks (all from Creative).

My budget is up to $400.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

ur budget could get you bookshelves

go Adelphi take a look..

LOL.. thanks for the feedback. What is the performance difference between a high end 2.0 (e.g Gigaworks T40) amd a mid-range 2.1 speaker (e.g. I-Trigue series)?

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi

Headphone is out. But thanks for your recommendations!

Anyway, I guess I have made my choice--unless some expert audiophiles can convince me.

*drumrolls*

Gigaworks T40!

Any users here mind commenting?

There are very little online reviews and the majority are for T20-- and they sound pretty impressive.

maybe you can consider them

i use T40. i find tt its not bad considering u can adjust bass n tremble to suit ur taste. but if u r blasting ur music to max vol, i will get significant distortion n i tink the speakers r screaming tt they cant take it.:D

some ppl oso say tt T40 is not worth the price. the price gap btw T20 n T40 does not match the quality n quantity diff btw the two. dunnoe wats ur take

Hi

I was very impressed with T20, and I set it as a benchmark against other speakers that I fancy. Hence, T40 and HD50 will have to be compared with the T20.

My budget is $400 because initially I was targeting the Creative Gigaworks G500. But then I heard its pretty tricky trying to get the dolby surround sound system ( I am a noob, remember) and need some decoder and special auxiliary output. :s22:

Thanks for the numerous suggestions!

Hi

Aiyoh.. budget can be changed. :s8: If there really exists a set of speakers such as T40 combined with a very good sub, I don't mind paying $600!

But thanks for the feedback.

since you don't game. Listen to squalljay. Go with bookshelves. Multimedia speakers are small fries compared to bookshelves.

Hi

How about the bass? A 2.0 speaker often lacks bass, how bout T40? :s12:

Hi,

the following bookshelves i recommended you are consider Hi-Fi grade.

So do listen to them yourself cause most multi media speakers will not come close to their quality

Sorry T.S. , hijack your thread...

Can recommend 5.1 speakers, not too flashy design , game/movie usage, budget under $100 , NO CREATIVE?
