Just an update. I have changed from Creative Gigaworks T40 to Aego M 2.1 set (black).

why did u change from t40? how do u find it's sound quality? thinking of buiying it.

T40 is good in the sense its a 2.0. Its mid-range is very good and its bass is quite solid for a 2.0 (I am using it with a modified X-Fi sound-card). But its treble is not as impressive as Aego M.

Go check out the Altec Lansing models like the VS2421. They sound pretty decent and a good all-rounder.

I can only help narrow down your options.

Since you need gaming and movie-watching, T20 is out because the bass is very weak as compared to the others. This is to be expected because it is a 2.0 set.

Logitech Z-4 sub-woofer is pretty big as compared to X-230 and AL VS2421, and should be the most expensive out of the three.

IMHO, AL VS2421 should be the best all-rounder, but be prepared to hear some noise due to wireless interference. The VS2321 also suffers from this issue.

If your friend say VS2421 bass not good, then I guess only Logitech produces good bass.

If you switch from 2.1 to 2.0 speaker configuration, you will sorely miss the sub-woofer.

T40 is better than T20 for sure, but if you can afford a T40, I am sure you can afford an Aego M, which is perfect for music listening and movie watching. This is IMHO of course.
