China is a really interesting case. I think you could make a convincing argument that the best performing Chinese stock is…Apple. Olympic mode thinking would never have helped you figure that out, but Apple is probably the most successful company in generating high profits (and future expected profits) based on business activities conducted in China.
Food for thought. Why could not China (despite a great leap as a country) did not churn out constant corporate "profit" generators on stock market. Could it be due to Socialist model of profit absorption/recycling into economy? How about Japan.. why did their corporates not become long term profit generators?

An interesting perspective seem to be emerging on India below. Watch first 10min for those interested in diversification for next few decades.

3:45-5:00 if you are short of time :)

The story is still unfolding. But it doesn't really matter. A global stock index fund ultimately figures it all out at least well enough.

How does the iShares S&P 500 compares with the Amundi Prime USA fund? the fee is 0.05% vs 0.08% and it allows CPF OA investment
I use Amundi Prime USA fund for CPF (clearly the best possible option for CPF investing into S&P funds), and ishares S&P 500 for SRS, as i reckon the synthetic feature makes up for the 0.30% Endowus fee.

Interesting point!

While the data from Endowus isn't long enough for both funds to provide an accurate picture, it seems that iShares is trailing Amundi Prime by a little bit... Maybe the advantage of the synthetic replication is being eaten up by costs associated with the purchase of the futures necessary for the strategy.

I bought a UT from FSM for $1000 using my UOB SRS account. If I sold the UT at a loss for $900, will my UOB SRS statement still show I have $100 with FSM? Anyone knows?

your UOB SRS will just display $900 balance.

$100 fly away.

I understand people can use SRS to buy into Annuity and able to drawout for more than 10 years. Say if I bought this at 65 while drawout already started at 62 is that still okay? The payout from Annuity would still be paid back into SRS account then you have to drawout yourself or this will be paid directly to your other bank account?

Will the monthly payouts from an annuity bought with SRS funds be paid into my SRS account, or can they be paid into my bank account directly?

If your SRS account is still open, your monthly annuity payouts must be returned to the SRS account before you withdraw them. If your SRS account is closed, your monthly annuity payouts may be paid into your bank account directly. After reaching the prevailing statutory retirement age at the point of first SRS contribution, an SRS member is taxed on only 50% of the total annuity payouts each year, perpetually.

You can search the SRS FAQs from this link or email IRAS for clarifications:

For SRS withdrawal, the only question is how much tax to pay. You can withdraw whatever way you want, just pay tax accordingly.

Most of my SRS are into DBS and OCBC shares.

I suppose I have to withdraw them by transferring the shares into my CDP account over 10 years after turning 62.

Even this is allowed still have to pay Tax? Effectively you are withdrawal from SRS Investment to Cash Investment.
