SSD for Games Storage

Was my gaming, music & bukit timah drive for 3 years +

Repurposed to external backup drive recently.

Should use your nVMe SSD drive for games as well, especially with the advent of MS directstorage and OS usually only takes about 64 GB. I assume drive is at least 256GB. Waste of good storage space, just ensure you keep at least 20% free space for longevity...

Sata SSD works well for games and cheaper. Like getting a Crucial MX500 or Samsung Evo 870 . 1TB or so... Also remember to keep at least 10% free space.

Leven JS-600 SSD is DRAM-less SSD vs Crucial MX500 which has DRAM. But not sure if it make a difference in your use case. Test it and let us know. May not be noticeable?

dram only matters for sustained write speeds. if ur ok with the upfront lower write speeds and only write the games to disk once or a few times then dramless is a perfectly acceptable choice since read speeds are not affected by presence of dram.

True, depend what you use.
If everyday use and gaming both NVME and SATA will do.
Directstorage wise, there are no known games that support it yet.

as some may know . i am building a new system using new purchase Ryzen 5 5800x cpu.

My current system have a 2 x 1TB HDD just for games storage.

OS is nvme so do not touch ...
