I applied for am esaver earlier this year. But never deposited anything inside. And they subsequently sent me an email saying that my application had been cancelled.
But when I went to a branch to get help with opening the 4% , 6 month esaver, the officer, who initially wasn't even aware of this promo (cos it has to be opened via app , not at branch) went to the back room, made enquiries, and returned to tell me that I have an account with them still! And that I'm not eligible for that promo because of that!

I also the same. Your cancelled application is prolly your ibanking.

I saw my esaver alrdy created aft logging in ibanking when i get a scb cc

Sorry , you misunderstood me. The application that was cancelled was the original one, the one earlier on. I didn't even apply for the 4% promo.

I just logged in on my desktop. When I got to "Account Management " , their response was that I don't have any account.

I'm now thinking maybe it's not safe to put any money in such a bank. They can't even decide whether I have an account or not. Later, they may not be able to decide whether I have money or not, how?

You transfer money from another bank, the transaction from other bank cannot use meh?

If u deposit cash, also have receipt what

Your esaver account number is probably assigned during your application early this year and cancelled (as per their email since you did not deposit any money inside). This account is probably "dormant" or "suspended". You should have asked the branch officer what to do - deposit $1 (or any amount to make it active) or submit another application in branch for another esaver account.

If your account is "suspended", when you log in internet banking, you should not have visibility to this account (which the IB is telling you "you do not have any account with SCB). Not sure if online CSO will be able to see this account. They may not have the adminstrative rights to view this information on their end.

If your first suspened account is still with SCB records, doubt you will be able to open another esaver account using mobile app since each person cannot have two single name eSaver.

Are you priority customer?
I managed to get through via a 1800 number. The CSO said that must be priority customer to qualify for the 4% one

Not sure if I can refer you and we share the cash reward, if you are accepted by the bank? My friend has a record with the bank and her PB account was previously closed by the bank about 2 years ago. Incidentally, she received notice of closure about 2 weeks after I received my :D But they decided to let my case go after my nasty reponse to the notice of closure.

Asking for a friend. She is still deciding between HSBC EGA and esaver, and also amount to place.

My friend account was no suspended but closed by the bank more than 2 years ago. The CSO can still view her account when I gave the account holder's name only. CSO say can open new account to qualify for promo :D

I sat in front of the officer when she searched her computer for an account that was closed more than 2 years ago just based on the name given by me :) I have a glance of the screen to confirm the right info.

Errr....I tot only can check own acct? Can anyhow check other ppl acct meh? Normal phone call/chat alr so strict ask this ask that for verification.:unsure:
