Funny I took out all my $200,000 and left $1K in the account, then a RM called me. So I asked him any higher interest rate for my current esaver account. He said no then I need RM for what? I also duno why got RM engaged to me.

Maybe next time ask him specifically to get you on the invite (or extend the invite if ended).

Hi guys, two questions:

1. According to their website, the e$saver promotional rate of 3.4% only last till 31 July? Meaning if I join in now i can only enjoy like 1 month++?

2. On the same page, it says: "Sign up for a Priority Banking relationship by 30 June 2023 and earn up to 3.50% p.a. interest for 3 months (for e$saver) when you bring in fresh funds* of minimum S$100,000. " This sounds good to me, but when I click find out more, and click "Start a new relationship" on the next page, I was asked to create a wealth $saver account instead? So how does it work? I have to credit money into both e$saver and wealth $saver?

You can put in over 200k and after 2+ weeks they might just upgrade u automatically to priority banking and hence you automatically qualify for the promo. That happened to me for May.

They called u to tell you that they have other options for u which is for him or her to share with u bond purchase or currency exchange as part of ur portfolio. Earn the sales charge since they know u have $200k withdrawn from their bank

so I put 200K in e$saver, don't have to apply for a priority relationship by opening a wealth $aver account? it's kinda unclear, do any of you have a RM contact to share? Best is to speak to someone...

Err i don't know if you really want an RM to contact you though. Coz it might just end up becoming a pushy sales talk. I mean, I'm merely describing what happened to my account last month. But does that happen to everyone is beyond me. Ultimately, I'm guessing its up to the bank to decide whether to upgrade it that way or not.

ok thanks. It's funny they are promoting 3.5% for 3 months for priority banking yet did not clearly state the steps to do it. I suppose if you open a wealth $aver and put in 200K you will become one, but the 3.5% is for e$aver, don't have so much cash to fund both accounts :(

The wealth saver approach isn't worth it coz if you don't move that money out, it will only get 2%. But if you move that out to put it into E-saver, I don't know if the bank will recognise that sum of "in-out" money as fresh funds or not.

If I only have $5000, can I transfer in and earn 3.40% straight?

I had this account since 2018 and have left it at zero balance. If now I deposit money inside, will scb back charge me the $5 min fee since 2018?

No min requirement except the min sum to prevent monthly charges.

So technically I am below the min sum since 2018. Previously they cant charge me because inside no money

Now if I deposit $ inside they back charge me the $5 since 2018 then I go crazy man

They wont claw back the fall below fee if your balance remains $0. U should only worry if u see negative balance (overdraft).

If no transaction for 6 mths, acct become dormant. However, i was told by scb cso to online deposit money into acct to reactivate.

You are lucky, mine inactive for donkey years, only realised after I fail to transfer money in to earn high interest, so rush down to branch to apply for reactivation!
