I don't like Standard Chartered. Some years back I lowered all my credit card limit to 2k after reading the case where someone's card was used fradulently and she had to pay. About 1 year later I applied to increase credit card limit to 4k as I need to buy big item. They rejected even though my salary was higher than 4k without reason. After that, keep receiving calls from Standard Chartered offering me loan.

And as I mention in earlier post, Standard Chartered service sucks. Tampines branch.

But it was not raining. I not hardup. Just wanted to charge 3k plus to Manhattan card to get the cash rebate. I have so many other credit cards. In the end I had to use other methods to increase their credit limit. :look:

You can try making prepayment to the card to increase the credit limit

What I did then was to apply online for their other credit card. They had the get new card by next working day event then. The credit cards share credit limit. So by applying new card and providing my salary documents, credit card limit goes back to X times of salary and I could then use my manhattan card.

But this was possible because I genuinely could meet the credit limit based on my salary. Really don't understand why they reject increasing back the credit card limit. They really want to take advantage of people thinking that I so desperate that I will take up their loan.

:s13: they asked for update of my salary. I ignored and they unilateral increased my credit limit (without my consent).

Anyone took part in this Q4 2018 Top up promotion?
Received the $500 cash credit?
i did not credited yet, cso said need to wait till june as tnc say 3-6mths crediting period
No need to wait till end of June. They twist the definition of the tnc of Q4 2018 to be same as Q1 2019. They said I not qualify because month of deposit not counted even I kept 3 full calendar month, but based on this twisted definition, I only kept for 2 month. They knew it long ago, still told me wait till end of June.

i can tell you alot of the cso are very blur, based on the tnc they said just need maintain the fresh funds for 3 months after transfer-in date. Its clearly stated and they cant change the tnc as and when they like.

An Eligible Customer who meets all of the requirements set out in Clause 2 above and places and maintains
the Fresh Funds as assets under management with the Bank for at least three (3) months after bringing in
the Fresh Funds, shall be entitled to a gift of $500 in the form of account credit. (“Gift”)

Understand Stanchart is having a promo where you open a new account and deposit $200k fresh funds for 3 months, you can earn 100,000 Krisflyer miles (after doing the FNA, etc).

In the meantime, the money can earn the 2% bonus interest for the first 2 months. Sounds like a good deal. Forgo one month of bonus interest to earn 100,000 Krisflyer miles.

Anyone had this experience yet?
