New 4% esavers promo for new customers. Anyone noticed this? Weird that they are running both 3.8% and 4% promos at the same time. If I just opened my SCB esavers, which one am I under?

If you apply through the SC mobile app, click 4% APP EXCLUSIVE OFFER and apply now.. u can get 4% for next 6 months if u do not have a eSaver account..existing customer with no e-saver account also is a New deposit customer.

If not, u will be under 3.8%

Just out of curiosity, if I deposit fresh funds of $20,000 from 1st April to 7th May and then withdraw 20k on 7th May, will I receive interest from April 1st to May 7th?

How is the interest being calculated?

I believe it's based on ADB - average daily balance for the month.

I assume that the $20k is incremental to your average daily balance for March 2023. Then the bonus interest is computed daily for April 1st to May 7th (or the 6th rather) and will be credited to you on May 31st.

My Mar ADB is zero, I deposited 20k on 1/4 and maintain it till 30 April, I got 3.75%pa on 20k (incremental adb for April) on 29 April (cos 30th April is Sunday)+ accumulated daily interest (0.05%). I continue to keep the 20k + interest till 7th May and withdraw all monies, I will get 3.75%pa on incremental ADB for May on last day of May +0.05% daily interest till 6 May. ADB for May = (20k+interest)*6/31. Make sure adb is at least 1k to get bonus interest.

Just checking...if I have a eSaver account joint-name with my wife (I am the primary account holder), does my wife consider as "new" customer if she opens another eSaver by going through her app?

That is incorrect..

T&C point 3 stated..
  1. New Customer” refers to an individual who opens at least one current/cheque account(s), and/or savings account(s) and/or time deposit(s) (“Deposits Relationship“) as the primary account holder, with the Bank during the Promotion Period, but does not include an individual who maintains or had maintained a Deposits Relationship as the primary account holder with the Bank within the past twelve (12) months from the date of commencement of the Promotion Period;
Must be total 'New To Bank' customer to qualify..

And if what I interpret from the T&C's is correct.. You have to maintain a minimum ADB of 50k throughout this whole 6 months campaign as well..

Can "New Customer" be an individual with an existing joint account but not as the primary account holder? :grin:

Well... Many times encountered CSO give misinformation..
Agree but it is not unique to SCB. Other banks like DBS,OCBC,UOB etc all suffer from the same issue. Somehow CSO are all not fully trained or information not properly disseminated. So if listen and then later is not what will you do? Sue the bank to court? Cannot be rite? So swallow your grievances and move on.

Secured mailbox is you and them see. FB is open big big let all ppl see. So from that point why action so fast I can understand. So now the tips is
1. send secured mailbox
2. go FB ask for update/reply if item 1 is passed by X days no sound from them
