Really if you ask me right now, I would rate Giga (Starhub) below M1 in terms of stability. I'm playing game, with M1, I can play the game smoothly from my place to my workplace on bus/MRT with maybe just 1 disruption or none. With starhub, same route on bus, I will go through 3-4 areas where the network just suddenly gone dead and stop transferring data, in game ping from 1XXms jump to 999ms and nothing is moving. Even videos will suddenly stop loading. Really no idea what's happening but this is also what I've experienced last time on Starhub sim only plan. Weird... I thought it would've improved. Too bad. Maybe will try Gomo. If Gomo also not doing well, I think I'll move to Circles Life with M1 network + VoLTE.
I was on giga then went over to grid and now back again. I experienced intermittent data disconnections too with this new giga plan.

Previously it was ok...

watch this space

Which are the handsets that support VoLTE?
Currently, the following handsets supports VoLTE:

Apple iPhone: All iPhone devices that support VoLTE and running on iOS 15

Oppo: Oppo Find X3 Pro, Oppo Reno 4 Pro

Samsung: Samsung Galaxy S21 (S21 5G, S21+ 5G, S21 Ultra 5G)

vivo: X60, X60 Pro, X50e, X50 Pro

Xiaomi: Xiaomi Mi10T, Xiaomi Mi11 5G, Xiaomi Mi11 Lite 5G

We will be progressively updating with devices that support VoLTE, so keep a look out on this space!

It's not about this list. Many iphone users also not getting VoLTE.

If you search, got other earlier Giga user getting VoLTE on their Poco F3. It's something on Starhub/Giga side that VoLTE is not enabled for all supported handsets.

Yes, I'm having this VoLTE issue with Giga also, my initial generic number was able to use VoLTE on my Samsung S21 phone but then after porting, the VoLTE just disappeared and Giga CS was not able to tell me why it's happening. Their support and service is just horrible!

Anyone knows if Giga have a minimum stay-in period before allowing port-in number to be ported out again? Thanks.

Ported to giga! yesterday and volte don’t work on my iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 15.1.
Did you try restarting your iPhone 12 Pro and after that go into into Setting —> Cellular—> Voice & Data (switch between 4G and 5G Auto) lastly turn on & off airplane mode.

Check under Setting —> General —> below Physical SIM label —> Carrier: StarHub 4x.x (tap on it, it should switch to show PRL 1, tap again it should change again to IMS Status should show: “Voice & SMS”

Idk if iOS 15 changed, but in iOS 14, giga have two types of SIMs, and that might be why some giga customers have VoLTE/VoWiFi while some don’t have.

those that’s under StarHub 45.0/46.0 in iOS 14.x, can see VoLTE and WiFi Calling option.
Those under giga 45.0/46.0 couldn’t see at all.
StarHub might have modified in iOS 15, but I’m not sure.

I’m not on giga anymore, so idk if the two types of SIM Cards have any impacts on VoLTE/VoWiFi availability now.

I read thru this thread and seems like reviews for Giga not so good - poor connection & not reliable. Wanted to port to Giga but now I'm contemplating.

Currently on Starhub CIS sim only @ $20 which is offering:

60GB
Unlimited talktime + 1000 sms
Free caller ID

Only downside is there is a 1-year contract but so far, it is reliable and I face almost no issue.
Not sure if I should just continue with this....

I have been using Giga for more than a year. Ok for me.

But if I am you, I would stick to Starhub since the plan is just $2 more but has more data and talktime.

People usually go for MNVO like Giga if it is much cheaper.

I assume you are comparing to Giga $18 plan. But if your data and talktime needs are low and comparing to the $10 plan, then worth switching

Yea, the Starhub CIS plan is pretty good, only bummer is the 1-year contract.

Yes, comparing the Giga $18 plan. But you did make me think whether I really need that much data :s22:. The $10 plan is kinda attractive, somemore able to roll over data.
