when i use giga on iphone 8 less 10mbps download

but put on android phone from 2017 got over 80mbps...

same location and time...

anyone else like that...

iPhone 8 uses Intel modem which is reported to be inferior compared to Qualcomm modem.

1GB will probably be not enough for 4D 3N if you use refresh lots of social media (Facebook, insta), not even talking about tiktok.

If you are heading there for at least 4 days, perhaps it's a better choice to get ICC eSIM, that is if your phone supports it, it's widely available on shopee. I tried it before and it's not bad.

But to save yourself some data, do download offline google maps before your trip. Turn off email or auto update apps before your trip to save data.

Anyway, back again. I checked shopee for simcard options. 4D3N also may end up $8+ at 1GB daily which will be overkilled for me. I am thinking $8+ for simcard vs Giga $5x2 (1GBx2). Yes the latter is not worth by value, but 500mb / day likely enough for me.

So I am curious anyone can give feedback how is the giga roaming network like in JB and KL?

I have tried Shopee SIM in JB before. Cannot use inside Komtar. It's not Malaysian Telco SIM. China SIM with roaming. Better stick to Giga roam.

Ask dumb qns. Ever since I port over to Giga, I never had chance to go overseas, so no sure how the roaming works / don't work. If for example i did not buy the data roaming but my data is on. Does Giga start to charge me on some overseas super expensive charges?

Buy GIga packs, otherwise no data. Giga does not have pay as you roam kind of services available like traditional telcos i.e. ST,SH,M1
Check your Giga app and there's answers to your questions for your roaming queries.

Thanks for the clarification. No pay as you roam means I won't get crazy bills. This is what I wish to confirm. I will probably get Giga roaming pack after I reached destination with hotel WiFi. Going in big group thus I won't need to worry about losing way...

Ahhh, recommend to check Giga app regularly as the 1 for 1 roaming packs drops intermittently.

Hmm you all think the free 1GB gigaroam on the 16 Dec have to same same day or can keep until next month? If can keep, I am thinking buy the 23 Dec 1 for 1. That means I have 3GB, should be more than enough for my 4D3N Malaysia trip in Jan.
