Anyone use Gigaroam for going Malaysia before? How's it? I may need to travel for 4D3N, worried if 1GB is actually enough... It will be mainly during daytime, night I probably use hotel's WiFi.
Alternatively anyone know of good amount of data, affordable, for Malaysia usage? I think 2GB will be good

1GB will probably be not enough for 4D 3N if you use refresh lots of social media (Facebook, insta), not even talking about tiktok.

If you are heading there for at least 4 days, perhaps it's a better choice to get ICC eSIM, that is if your phone supports it, it's widely available on shopee. I tried it before and it's not bad.

But to save yourself some data, do download offline google maps before your trip. Turn off email or auto update apps before your trip to save data.

I google on my phone, but sadly it does not support esim. So I assume the next best option is a physical simcard? I saw options available on websites like klook. I wonder if there is any "best" choice for a tourist simcard in JB

Got my SIM yesterday.
Starhub SIM gone not provisioned yesterday night 10pm.
But till this morning still no email on number transfer complete, the giga app still say in progress.

Is this normal?
My first time switching telco with number porting.
Should activate the giga SIM now or wait for porting complete?

Still have my old SIM in phone.
Should I wait till number transfer complete before changing to giga SIM?
Don't want to botch the process and lose my old number.

You won't botch the process and lose your number just because you swapped out SIMs, that is controlled entirely on the telco side. Your sim is just to identify yourself to the cell network, what phone number is assigned to your SIM is determined on the telco end.

Got the transfer complete email.
Phew.
Those transfer horror stories made me anxious.
First number transfer in my life went through lol.
Going back in the evening to switch the SIM.

Thanks for the replies @Jurong640 and @crystalnox.
