Took back my words, i decided to port-in my wife's number and try it out.
2pm+ - Porting request submitted through Giga app
11pm - Lost ZYM's signal, popped-in giga SIM card, number still the temp number as of 2349hrs.
0010hrs - ported number is updated in Giga app. Called my phone, number changed too. However, not receiving OTPs from Apple to update phone number (due to change of number when i changed to giga SIM card too early).
6:30am - can update iPhone number liao.

so far the data is okay, no complain.
ZYM data will lose signals, or no data.

can i port out sim under gigabuddy plan to other telco?
Should be fine.

My other question is, after signing up for gigabuddy, will we be allowed to keep gigabuddy if we port out all the main lines so that the gigabuddy remains the only number on the account.

Didn't try as already stated clearly in the tnc.
The Giga FAQ only stated must have a main line when signing up for gigabuddy, but never said what happens after gigabuddy is signed up already and the main line ported out.

So it seems it is possible to keep the gigabuddy line as a standalone line.

Ahhh, seems to be stated here.

3.6.3 In the event that the Base Plan is terminated during the subscription term of the gigaBuddy Plan, the gigaBuddy Plan will continue to subsist until the end of the subscription term. However, the subscriber will not be allowed to purchase another gigaBuddy plan unless he has an active Base Plan.

3.6.3 still doesn't mention immediately terminating the gigabuddy plan after the Base Plan is terminated. Subsist until the end of the subscription term means as long as Giga does not terminate the gigabuddy plan on its end, subscriber still can hold it.
But the latter is the key " subsist until the end of the subscription term" which I would believe means the end of the base plan term?

Read 3.6.3 properly again.

In that it states clearly "subscription term of the gigaBuddy Plan", not that of the Base Plan. :s22:

i see thanks. Is their 4G still okay? The promo now $15 for 250GB, no 5G though
Yeah, works fine and stable for the areas that I visit (East and Central mainly).
Pretty good roaming (TH,VN, TW, CN, MY etc.), which works seamlessly too and not priced exorbitantly but not exactly the cheapest.
