how long does the sim delivery and activation takes after porting in?

I signed up Tuesday morning. SIM card delivered Wednesday lunch time. Existing telco Starhub SIM continued to work for the day but went dead on Wednesday night. By Wednesday night, the giga SIM was working and my line had been ported over.

I have two questions to ask. Apologies if they have been asked before.

Does gigaRoam support incoming and outgoing voice calls when overseas? I read in one of the posts here that it does not, and the FAQ also say no. But last year, when my colleague was in Japan on gigaRoam, I called her on voice call and she was able to receive and take the call.

I find that I am unable to send or receive MMS. Is there a setting for this? When I ask giga!, they keep repeating the settings for Mobile Data APN, which is not what I am asking. Or is it that giga! does not support MMS?

Now I waiting for 8886 series. 8889 and 8890 gone and 8887 and 8885 will be gone soon. For the 8886 series behind the 4 number I will aim for either 1 of these 6638, 6678, 668X no number 4 ok, 6698, 6789, 8899, 7788 or any XX88 without number 4 inside

i just sign up and got this number 8885X808

I was given 88853638 which I did not take because i was porting over my existing line.

Anyway, giga! confirmed that they currently do not support MMS and do not offer roaming calls (both incoming and outgoing) and sending of SMSes when overseas. Strange that I was able to call my colleague in Japan last year. Maybe it works in some countries but they do not officially offer the service. Or maybe they since removed it.

Deactivate from 11pm
Take up to 3h to fully port over
So your ported number should take effect from 2am onwards.

Standard procedure.

Read from giga!'s website that they do not offer sending of international SMSes from Singapore.

So iPhone users can use giga! number for iMessage/FaceTime or not? I remember activate iMessage/FaceTime need to send international SMS.
