8889 888888 numbers for this sim?

no. haha. =:p

just normal 8889 with one more double number behind. reasonable number but likely will not keep it becos the 2nd one i signed up with giga that has 88 as suffix one is the one i will keep.

No I never sign up giga before.

However, it is indeed taking only three steps to compete the order.

Received the SIM card. No SIM ejection tool. Too bad. Haha.
I just flashEd the NRIC to the delivery guy and I got my SIM. He did not even take it to verify nor see if my address on the back of IC matched etc. Dun even need to sign to acknowledge the delivery.

The courier guy did checked the name and i need to signed on his handphone.

I remembered I told u guys that I was not asked to upload any ID doc during the signup.

Indeed it did not ask it. As you guys can see from below. Only 3 steps to sign up a number. Totally no need to upload any document.

Same for signing up StarHub Sim only also.
Nonsense. For Giga, the upload of IC is during account creation, before selection of number and delivery date.

Oh, my Brother said his prepaid card still has some balance left. Thus he will not activate the new giga sim card 4 weeks later.

How long can we hold on to the card without activation?

Yes, must upload front & back ic during registration.

That's a good thing that these smaller company gives. MyRepublic also do give. When I ported to Grid, I expect to receive it as well, sadly no SIM ejection tool

yeah. so far only MVNOs do it.
singtel, starhub that i have used previously, never give such thing.

circles.life also gives the SIM ejection tool. and i must say that circles life has the best packaging of their sim welcome package than any MNP or MVNOs. Even the tool has it own dedicated slot in the welcome package.

However, somehow Giga SIM ejection tool feel a bit more cheapo comparing to MyRepublic one.

No complaint though, since it is free. I always lost the SIM ejection tools that come with my iPhones i feel heart pain over it. Now i no need to worry about no SIM ejection tool to use and I can keep the original one in my new iPhone next time and just use all these from MVNOs.

Maybe I will just dispose the remaining myrepublic number and
sign a new myrepublic lite plan and port the nice Giga number over. Then again one more new free set of sim ejection tool and nano sim 'adapter'. haha. :D

can also. but no harm to use especially there are so many free sim ejection tools can be get from the MVNOs new sim cards. haha.

I had attached the sim ejection tool onto my key chain together with my house keys nowadays. So hardly i lost it too.

Well for those are moving to giga and want to time when to port over for maximum usage of your old plan, here's a data point.

The activation of new SIM takes 1 working data after the day you receive your SIM so if you can plan your delivery date to ensure the activation date is as close to the end of your current billing cycle as possible.

You can activate it anytime, it’s instant. In fact I accidentally activated my giga Sim even before receiving it by logging in and clicking on activate in the app.

oh, shouldn't this make the process a little faster? So let's assume your delivery is on 10 June, you log in and activate on 9 June. So your porting process will begin 9 June 11pm and ported successfully on 10 June 12.30am.

So from 9 June 11pm to 10 June (your delivery time), you will be out of network. But once, your SIM arrives, you can immediately use it.

Not worth the risk. What if delivery is delayed for whatever reason ?
