Anyone encountering problems with Google playstore on android devices? Can't seem to download any apps from playstore. Surfing and youtube is fine. Just downloading apps from Google playstore on android.

Regards,
Emanuel

Me. I realise that I cannot download from Playstore via WiFi on my Dlink. Downloading via 3G and my office Wifi works fine. I think I am going to get Starhub to change my RG to Huawei. Huawei at my parent's place do not have such problems

Same here. The Google Play refuses to download any application over WiFi. This is definitely the router's fault.

I just called Starhub. They do not seem to think that it's a problem with the router, rather with the fibre connection.. says their engineers will investigate and get back to me..

I know it sounds a bit cliche but this is exactly what I did in the afternoon. The person, Mohammad, asked all the basic questions such as "can your computer connect to the internet" twice, but failed to probe further on the issue of google play downloads. And even though he said he would get back to me on the same day, I think they will just put our issues on the backburner.

An issue I brought up with them a week ago still remains unresolved to this day.

You plug the homeplug directly to the power socket? My house has only 2 pairs of power sockets. The rest are all singular including the one my computer is connected to :(

Will the extension cable affect the performance of the homeplug?

The one connected to the router is directly connected. The one to computer is with a multiplug directly to power socket. Extension cable will decrease, if i were use to use extension, it will drop to 50mbps..

Rule of thumb, every extension (soap bars) will decrease speed by about 30%

so if the homeplug is connected to the multiplug, will plugging the extension cable to another side of the multiplug (for my desktop and console) affect the performance?

Previously i have this issue with the older firmware so i changed the configure of my router to:

Beacon Period : 100
DTIM Interval : 1

then is alright. Now i don't know if it is still the same issue

I also called up starhub. I have actually called them before to complain about my dlink and have changed my dlink before. That time, I told them that I might want to change to Huawei in the future. The CSO I spoke to today told me that she sees note on allowing me to change back to huawei and that their technicians will give me a call.

Maxinfinity has 50mbps upload, maxonline has 10mbps upload. theoretical download is the same, but it depends on the users in your area. the more people sharing, the slower it is.
