My Hwawei is out in my living room and a thick wall is in between my PC in my room and the router; affecting the speed badly. Any advice for me? Shall I get a wireless repeater? Will that help? Thanks.

get it and cry further.

a homeplug will be a much better option..

use "lousy" repeater only when you really have got ZERO choice.

Those damm starhub engineers are still clueless how to solve the problem.

Here is a kinda working temporary solution for ppl having problem with speeds

You need to have a VPN that you can log on to. Maybe your company VPN or private VPN on your other networks. If you have a VPN, share it here for everyone to use. Currently, I do not know of any VPNs that you can log-on to for public.
an example of a jupiter VPN is here:

I used my company VPN in this case

Before - NO VPN

After - Connected to VPN

try to get a good homeplug too :)

best if got friend/neighbour with homeplug, borrow and test an hr or 2 then decide which way to go.

Hi Habsters,

The installer came to my house to install the ONT and Huawei Gateway 2 days ago and he asked me to monitor the internet icon on my gateway as it is still red(mean no connection).Does you encounter the same problem with me? What channel did the installer set for you?

After 2 weeks, I still have not received a call from them.
its regarding of the installer whom came to install the ONT and RG at my home 2 weeks ago, and he detected there is no signal from the TP. Then somebody would contact me asap. Until now...

P.S. My post where i posted this issue is 2 pages behind this.

Telin datacenter bandwidth very unstable. a 7.2mbps mobile line can get 100mbps also, then retest get 0.00mbps

According to Starhub installer , we cannot had reset the Huawei router. If not your internet will be lost.It is a stupid design.Should have use PPPOE like corporate fibre.

Your Huawei router in the living room is located at what height?

Try put the router slighly higher (say abt 6ft high) and see if that help? Also try change wireless channel to a least used channel in your area. (default normally is ch6, try use ch1 or ch11 and see if any diff)

I still manage to get 50Mbps download speed, with my router put at 6ft high and separated by 2 walls.

I had do a hard reset to the router aka RG. It will know how to get the configuration for the VOIP within 5-10 minutes or faster.

ONT nv try b4.
