maxonline question

Hi,
I am interested in getting the 100MBps fibre optic connection.
I saw someone say that hwa wei wifi is weak and we can use the our Dlink 825 to transmit it instead. My dual band is already enabled. How do I do this exactly. I would want to know all the facts before buying it. Has anyone done a international speed test??

Thanks

Requirements to get 100mbps off wireless.
You must be decently closed to the AP such that the signal quality is good
Choose a channel that is clear of neighbouring signal, however a range of channel void of any wifi seenable broadcast might mean it is congested by other device like microwaves oven, phone and should avoid.
Buy good chipped usb dongle
Enable the required optimum 'N' setting.

Today, I'm saying bye bye to Starhub maxinfinity.

Like many of you, I signed up with hopes of better and faster surfing experience. Likewise, I found out that overseas website are typically slower, the servers that I visits are up to 5 to 10X slower than the Starhub cable I was on. Overseas Speetests also shows poor results.

After trying out HW modem, new Dlink modem, I've finally decided to switchback to Starhub. :)

I think give them another year to fix all the teething issues, then I relook at it again.

Goodluck one and all :)

When you use the Dlink router,do you experience a faster speed to oversea site?Looks like the slow international speed is caused by the Huawei router.

It is not a joke.I discovered something on fibre. But Starhub engineer also witness that but he no comment.I was given a Cisco router for my office fibre. The speed was fast for oversea site. But it was a 100Mbps router. So I bought a Gbps Zyxel router and used it because my whole office is Gbps network.Oversea site is all slow.I also do not know why,Stahub engineer was there and also ???.By way, corporate starhub fibre is using PPPOA.
