Could somebody answer these question?

Any speed test screenshots for 150 Mbps?

I am very eager to know too.

I believe I have post it before

please learn to help yourself instead of demanding for it blindly

hmmm, should i upgrade my router to ASUS-RT56U or 66U since im using D-Link DVG-N5402SP provided by Starhub

MaxInfinity Elite

ONT -> D-Link DVG-N5402SP > SMCWBR14-N2 (Bridged Mode) > TL-WR941 (LAN port of SMC to TL-WR941 WAN Port)

Reasons why i use 3 routers in this case is because of the wireless range limitations.

Considerations:
- No disconnection so far
- [Wireless] Only able to get 130mbps instead of 300mbps (How much will i get if i use the above mentioned router?)
- Speedtest using other router SMCWBR14-N2

Any kind advice on how to improve my current network setup?

I would say, go for it.
(unless you're using home voice run via fibre)

my wireless speed increased tremendously. my previous huawei hg256 just refused to shine, so quite pekchek decided to change router.
And guessed what, no turning back. :D
if got budget, go with the N66U, but personally I haven't tried that yet
it is possible to obtain 300mbps (my current setup, 5GHz band), when paired with an excellent dual-band card.

I'm a user of SH 100mbps + RT-N56U ONT direct.
my 2cents ;)

130Mbps instead of 300Mbps

2 reasons

1. you are on 20MHz
2. you are too far off.

change the router and hope for the best

you don't need 5GHz to get 300Mbps.

but then again, only 5GHz can give you a much better throughput

Guys,

I keep getting intermittent disconnections when using DVG-N5402SP wireless (Starhub fibre plan).

Current setup:
ONT (port 1) --> DVG-N5402SP (WAN port)

To troubleshoot, I have a TP-link TD-W8960N router with wireless which was working fine, and would like to bridge it to my DVG-N5402SP.
However, my Tp-link does not have a WAN port.

It does however have the function to configure one of the LAN port into a WAN port.
How to configure TD-W8960N's LAN port work as WAN port(TD-W8960N work with cable modem) - Welcome to TP-LINK

Future test setup:
ONT (port 1) --> DVG-N5402SP (WAN port)
DVG-N5402SP (port 1) --> TP-link TD-W8960N (port 1)

Can someone please teach me what I need to do on DVG and TP-link side?

My impression was...

DVG side:
1) Setup DMZ -> 192.168.1.2
2) Disable wireless
3) Disable DHCP?

TP-link side:
1) configure under How to configure TD-W8960N's LAN port work as WAN port(TD-W8960N work with cable modem) - Welcome to TP-LINK
- As Default mode or VLAN MUX mode or MSC Mode?
2) Set up WAN IP as 192.168.1.2
3) Enable wireless
4) Enable DHCP?

Can someone advise if this is correct?

If your is direct ONT connection that meant only Internet service is available so the answer is no. You need to call SH to reactivate the voice service first.

Not possible atm, SH only provide HG863 device so even if you purchase your own ONT with voice function it simply would not work.

No but others have asked before in SH support forum.
Q4: Other ISPs are able to provide ONT with voice capability. Will StarHub be able to do the same thing?

Ans: We are exploring the option to offer an ONT with voice capability. We will inform our customers should we decide to offer such a device.

Hi,

I just switched to Starhub fibre from Singnet and I am facing some problems.

I am using Transmission as my torrent client and I can't seem to download anything. Are there settings that I have to do to the router? I am using Dlink DVG-N5402SP. It was working fine when I was on Singnet.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

hey guys,

i just switched to starhub fibre broadband 150mpbs. the speed is ridiculously slow! i cant even open websites properly. what can be the problem?

the thing is, even my previous plan of 50mbps is faster. i still have my 50mbps plan along with me. the difference is the router for the 50mbps is in my room, and the new fibre router is in the living room. my house isnt too big.

what can be the problem for the fibre broadband?

1. test it with cable and determine speed - if speed is fast read 2., else read 3.

2. router issue, please change it.

3. call ISP
