im using a macbook, the signal strength is full leh. i changed to channel 11, the speed is intermittent, sometimes its decent enough to surf, and sometimes it become freaking slow, to the extent of websites not loading!

If you have not done this already - hold down the 'option' key when you click the wireless icon in the menubar.

Look down the list to find the 'transmit rate' i believe it's called. You can have a good signal quality but only be connecting at a rate 1-2 Mbits - which in wireless terms is essentially nothing.

Do the same thing when you are next to the router and see the difference. In all likelihood this is a wireless problem and nothing else, so other threads may be more helpful than this one regarding a fix.

Hi all,

I just got my maxinfinity 200mbps yesterday. However, seem to have issues with filehosting uploaded.to.

I was on cable before and no issue downloading. Now I just have this error when I download: You used too many different IPs, Downloads have been blocked for today. This has affected me for 2 days already. How do I get pass it? Is it due to some Dynamic/Static IP issue? Im a noob at this so if anyone can teach me how to configure the settings, that will be great!

Thanks!

Hi,

I just switched to Starhub fibre from Singnet and I am facing some problems.

I am using Transmission as my torrent client and I can't seem to download anything. Are there settings that I have to do to the router? I am using Dlink DVG-N5402SP. It was working fine when I was on Singnet.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Starhub users have only one external IP address when connecting to international sites to download. I encountered this "too many different IPs, Downloads have been blocked for today." many times

Advice for PS3

Hi all,

After changing to Max Infinity Platinum, my PS3 NAT for COD:BO2 became Moderate!!

Did all the Port Forwarding thingy but still cannot get it to be Open.

Thing is I am connecting the D-Link RG via LAN to the WAN of my RT-66U. And my PS3 is connected via LAN to my RT-66U......

I then tried connecting the PS3 directly to the other LAN ports of the RG but it does not detect the PS3 at all!!

But when I tried connecting my laptop to the RG via the same LAN port it works!

Questions are :

1. Any advice how to get the PS3 NAT back to Open?

2. Why the RG is not picking up my PS3 when I connect them via LAN?

Thank you,.

check your config. Is your laptop on static IP or pre-assigned static in the RG?

Thank you,

all the settings are on auto IP....

Question is why the RG is not detecting the PS3 when my RT-66U does?

No change of settings on the PS3, just change the LAN connections.

sorry i don't own the PS3 so is difficult for me to determine w/o any screen capture of your router's config and pS3 config.

I guess you have to take a look at your RG config. It shouldn't really make a difference even if it is connected to the RT-N66U though
