btw, why do you need the superadmin password for ?

cause i needed to restore the config file back to the router after i saved it before reset to factory default. nevermind the hg256s suddenly got ip again thats how i can reply this message even though the wifi is turned on.

my problem always occurs after starhub maintainence where i have to log into the superadmin account to change the wan primary and secondary dns to google's dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for that one night before setting it to dynamic ip the next day. hg256s will say internet is conbected but i am not able to surf until i change to googles dns for that night.

normal admin account the restore config tab does not appear. and the ability to set static wan ip and dns also is disabled.the dropdownlist for static or dynamic ip under basic->wan is not there also.

go, go and request for direct ONT.

i don't have to use google DNS after that.

if you are on VOICE or etc, go get a motorola modem to get the voice. if having 2 device is not what you wanted, then.. live with it.

Hey guys I am not sure whether is it right to post here. I was a starhub user for 10 years a few years ago, but i jump ship to m1 because starhub speed was getting worse at that time..

I am waiting for my house to be fibre ready rite now, but the date has been push back since last year till dunno when.. And right now m1 doesnt offer any 6 month contract for cable.. So Im thinking whether is it advisable to sign up for starhub cable first den when my hse is fibre ready upgrade to starhub fibre.. The disadvantage of signing up with starhub rite now means that i can only choose starhub for fibre, Im wondering is the service of starhub fibre decent? like consistent speed for torrent and downloads.. Thanks in advance!

is pretty decent but won't be lighting. Some if not all will throttle u speeds. On test it seems much faster than cable. M1 also lease these lines so quality will b same. Only viewquest suppose to give some un-restricted vpn. why want so short contract?

Hi all. I've got a question to ask. May i know if there's any installation/setup charges if i were to get fibre broadband from starhub? if there is, where can i find out about the cost? Cant seem to find it on the website.

I am currently a cable singnet user. Openet is ready but i'm sure there are other installation charges needed for fibre to be ready if i were to sign up as a new user under starhub.

On singnet website, there states a registration fee of $53.50, and an installation fee of $80.25 over the weekdays. Cant seem to find such info on starhub website though.

Thanks :)

best call 1633. Installation by SH is $53 approximately. That's for the guy to come fix up and do wireless for u. Also to verify signal. All bull to me. A primary school kid can do.

If not wrong last week papers sH waived all including openet if u have not done it.

Just to go onto the fibre network I have to put to waste my DIR825?!?

Short contract so that if i want to change to any other provider for fibre, i can change without waiting for 2 yearrs lo.. i already signed like 3 6 months contract with m1, den today they tell me they not providing new/recontract for cable.. so Im thinking whether to sign starhub cable now, den sign starhub fibre when my hse is fibre ready.. Last time i was thinking of signing up with myrepublic, but right now i saw some bad comments abt myrepublic also..

Thanks for ur insights bro..

Hi all...

Just changed to maxinfinity 150 mbps. As my house has 2 levels and the router (both huawei and the dlink they gave) had to be placed downstairs due to the opennet port being near the front door, i am having low connectivity in certain areas of my house, especially my room. What do you all suggest me to do?

And also, how come we can't just use our own router to replace the dlink router? I tried to use my netgear to replace the dlink but cannot work... had to use Lan-to-Lan from the dlink to the netgear before it can be used... I did this though...

So what do you all suggest me to do? Homeplugs?

Request for Direct-ONT lo. Then you can be like me using ONT -> personal Router instead of ONT -> Dlink/Huawei RG

only if you are not on VoIP - easier to request.

If yes, think of a way to get your VoIP.

for Homeplug is also a hit-and-miss affair. Noone can tell you if homeplug could give you more than >10Mbps. What you have mentioned above works. ONT -> RG -> Homeplug -> Router
Take note on your house electrical phase

ONT -> RG -> 3rd party router

use a long LAN cable to join them together.

this is the best. nothing else beats this including repeater.

Hi guys, I am on starhub 200mbps fibre plan. Using the default dlink router they have given. my dota 2 gameplay is kinda spiking all the way through and sometimes will DC too. Im thinking of changing to ASUS router as mentioned in other threads done by other bros here or just hook up a ugly direct connection across my living room. heres the problem:

1: If im using direct connection, which cable(cat5/6?) should i be getting. its about 10-11 steps away how long of the cable i should get?

2: if i were to change the dvg-n5402sp dlink router to ASUS router, would i be able to use digital voice for phone calls, currently i can use fax machine and phone
