When you say terminal point, you mean a LAN point?
If that's the case, most likely the new LAN cable is either not up to spec or the termination at the faceplates is not proper/correct.
1Gbps speed needs all 4 pairs in the cable to be connected properly. If only 2 pairs are connected properly, you will get only max 100Mbps.

I see, the cables are cat 5e I guess is like what u said only 2 cables are connected properly. My subscription is only 300mbps not 1gbps yet :) I wonder is there youtube clips showin proper way to connect this 4 cables.

Ha truly looks complicated thanks mrsun18.

Got to bother you guys again, rite now I'm using cat 5e lan cable, when I using a 1m lan cable I got the reading of 200mbps but when switch to 6m cable it starts to read only 95mbps. Isit true the longer the cables are the speedtest reading will drop? Or if I using cat 6 cables on 6 meter length I will get to retain 200mbps?

My subscription plan with starhub is 300mbps.

For short length like 6m speed will not be affected.
In this case it's not the length but some other problem with the 6m cable.

Agree, rubbersandal should open the Network and Sharing Center to verify the connected speed.

Ok this is how I tested out, when I connect 1m lan cat5e cable directly to router my readin was 195mbps but when I using 6m lan cable my reading is 95mbps. Could it be when there's bending on the 6m lan cable (as cable is fit inside a wall bracket running fr living rm to bedrm thus bending is inevitable) hence it affects the speed?

How sharp are the bends?
You should borrow a LAN cable tester from your network guy to test the cable. Not just the electrical continuity but also visual check to make sure the wires are paired correctly at the correct pins.

Hi there are several bends which is almost 90 degree as it travels from livin rm to bedrm. Apologise as it is not 6m(typo mistake) but close to 16m in fact. Was thinking get myself a new reliable lan cables of that length to test it than worry bout trunking later :)

As u know my subscription is 300mbps but will b getting 1gmbps once contract over. Should I get 5e cable or cat 6 cable and would you recommend me brand as well.

Thanks guys.

90 degree bends are ok.
16m is still short. Nothing to worry about.

Get Cat 6. I can't recommend brand but there's a thread on buying lan cables:

Once you recontract, they will give you a new voice enabled ONT to replace the old one. Anyway better to double check with their sales first.:)

How to do test and confirm that my fiber is 1gbps?
I tried speedtest but seems too fast... only managed to capture 550mbps.

Just installed fibre tv for a few days already, the fibre box is much faster and very stable compared to my previous hubstation hd box.

Can set 3 recording schedules within the same timeframe with smart tv.
The fibretv is connected to the 2nd port of the ont, so shouldn't be a problem if your internet is down unless ur fibre is cut.

What do you mean seems too fast? Just had my 1Gbps plan installed a few days and using my trusty N56u as the router.

Using SGIX server

I can't connect to internet since Tuesday evening.

TP->ONT->N56U
