Based on my experience, someone will call you back within 3 working days, if not then you will need to call their hotline again.

Yes, that's about the same time frame from my experiences too. Main issue is after 3 days, a person calls back and he/she is totally ignorance about what's going on. Then you will be told that they will check further and wait for another callback. Basically in my case, nothing was solved.

Their tech support staff basically have no relevant knowledge, anything more than the usual "reset your router/modem" solution, and they will request you to wait for a callback. When nothing happens, the connection fine, but if any major issue pops up, the user is screwed.

Anybody considering switching ISP should go read their community forum, look at the number of complaints and then decide if you really wanna sign up.

Just managed to change my ONT to direct ONT.

HomeHub 200

OpenNet => DIR 865L (Router) => RT-AC87U (AP)
I'm achieving around 200MBps (U/D) on both Wired & Wi-Fi connections.

Do not think they will change it for free as I did reject a Non-HD and requested HD set-top box, until now no one call me on this; end up I gave up the free tv lite. ;)

Shiok, I just bring my non-hd box to nex starhub and just changed to a HD box without any question asked

Now can watch on demand and sports for free during this NDP free preview le

Thanks for the info. ;)

Btw is yours under StarHub TV Lite? If so no extra charge for the changing?

This is the intermittent disconnection issue that i have been talking about:

http://community.starhub.com/t5/Max...ittent-Internet-Connection/m-p/121704#U121704

There are definitely a good number of users affected. Seeing this is a persistent issue, i wonder what Starhub is doing about it. I will discourage anyone to sign up with them unless you have neighbours already on Starhub who can confirm that they don't get this intermittent disconnection issue.

Gigabit network card for starhub maxinfinity

Hi guys, this is something 'old' but I need help in getting a gigabit network card to run 300mbps as speedtest is only showing 90mbps i'm getting rite now.

Starhub advised to get gigabit, I bought a cheap gigabit card but speedtest still showing 90mbps max. Is there a particular model I should look for. Your response will be appreicated.

What card did you buy?
Have you installed updated drivers for it?
Is the link speed showing 100Mbps or 1Gbps?
Check your cables also. Make sure they're at least Cat 5e or 6.

I'm having problems with starhub digital voice in the night during calling.... Call quality is patchy n not good during 8pm-12pm, anybody have such problems? Also, does starhub offer voice enabled ONT now instead of having to run the telephone wire thru cable modem? I suspect it's cable Internet lagging at night that's causing the call quality problems.

Thanks. It could be the case of too many ppl using cable internet at night so that's the cause of the problem. Tat time when i signed fibre their ONT does not have voice capability so was using the cable modem for voice. In morning calling there's no such problems. Maybe if i renew with starhub will request for new ONT and router, is the new router provided DLINK 865L good?

Thks guys I think the problem lies with my terminal point done previously by contractor, main terminal tried it with laptop speed close to 200mbps. Additional terminal by contractor is 95mbps. So I wont probe with my pc network card first but I wonder if I asked starhub to install additional terminal point would the speed reduced like what I have now.

What do u guys suggest?

When you say terminal point, you mean a LAN point?
If that's the case, most likely the new LAN cable is either not up to spec or the termination at the faceplates is not proper/correct.
1Gbps speed needs all 4 pairs in the cable to be connected properly. If only 2 pairs are connected properly, you will get only max 100Mbps.
