You need to do update this DLink 865L firmware.
After i did the updated, it is good and resolved all problems prior to it.

Links; firmware updates on the 2nd links on version 1.07

ftp://dlink.com.sg/DIR-865L/PDF Files/How to Perform Firmware Upgrade on DIR-865L Router.pdf

http://support.dlink.com/ProductInfo.aspx?m=DIR-865L

You have to do a factory reset after firmware update.
After firmware update, the password to the setting is the stated on the router label sticker.
This will the standard for all future firmware update.

Regards.

Hi thanks for the advise. I jus updated to latest firmware last month and this issue still kept recurring. Haven't done factory reset yet, will try it thanks.

How is Starhub Fiber Internet now arh? I am thinking to leave VQ to join back Starhub as I would then be a hubber as already having Starhub Cable TV & 4 Mobile lines.

Damn lousy. Dun join back... You're better off joining m1 or singtel fibre...

Have both starhub and Viewqwest as my ISP. Still prefer starhub as my primary ISP and very stable at my Jurong area.

lol. Many thanks for the feedbacks. VQ used to be Premium and was pretty good couple years back but now .... lowered price for competition and is now kept buffering when streaming youtube. What about AMK side? Any Brothers and Sisters got any feedbacks? Much appreciated.

HWZ a lot of funny people. Keep complain our 3 traffic light Fiber service say no good. I was on StarHub for more than 2 contracts. On M1 for 1 contract. All these years no real issues. If you use proper Lan cable or router with multiple antenna or just use like Apple airport, and good wifi card like intel or killer wifi card. How to have issues!?? User problem all want buy cheap hardware and don't learn how to configure that's why got issues. Hardware = cheap no good, good no cheap. Fiber network is all the same.

cheap hardware as in? By default the router given by all 3 teleco should work fine. I have been using the router given by starhub for years. Btw my current 868L is first batch given free by Starhub. Reason: The previous d-link router sucks so much even on cable that starhub decided to give free and no recontract was needed.

I don't know if its starhub problem but my internet was laggy. After I upgrade to latest firmware, it was still the same. Then I call start have multiple IP address. They will restart and till now everything been smooth.

Not the first time they said I got multiple IP address. I think 6 years with them this is the 3x they said something like that to me. But all these time I only use their router and I don't configure anything.

I am on fiber 1Gbps plan but why my speed is 100mbps kind?

Too little info.
What is the hardware you are using currently? Like what previous forumer said, ot might be due to you hardware is fast Ethernet @ 100mbps max, incorrect settings, cable.issue etc.

talk is cheap, limpei use direct ONT, to mikrotik router, to tp-link AC3150 router(using as access point) still got issue how?

like right now, i ping google, out of 800 packets i lost 37%.
some more is from my router ping out, so who to blame?

you cannot swallow the fact that somewhere somehow in the back end there is something seriously wrong with starhub, then better off not commenting.

A quick and honest summary of Starhub.

If you are just a casual user who does nothing more than the usual web browsing, youtube streaming etc, and wants a dirt cheap price then Starhub is decent enough. Bundled together with their TV service, a lot of people sign up with them because price is attractive.

However if you are into gaming, running vpns, hosting servers or do heavy video streaming from oversea sites, then stay away from them. You get what you pay for. Prepare for frequent latency spikes during peak hours and there is heavy throttling of certain traffic. Their international routing sux big time, and has been for a long while.

I won't go into the reliability of the devices they issued, as most of the problems have already been highlighted a lot on this thread. Their D-Link routers are absolute junk but seems like they have finally decided to stop ripping us consumers off and issuing Linksys devices now.

In short unless you are also going to take up their TV service, there is reason to sign up for their fibre broadband.
