just got my maxinfinity fixed today.

not sure why but the speed is pretty slow?

didn't change any setting or have special routers, bad lags during gaming.

anyone can help?

Starhub MaxInfinity Ultimate 100Mbps, under the $49.65 promotion plan.
I'm staying in Sengkang area.

I'd swear this is a quantum improvement over MaxOnline cable modem speeds at least on the local network. Didn't do any tweaks or anything to equipment, PC or OS. Straight run on Speedtest.net, did nothing special.

My configuration is Huawei ONT -> D-Link DVG-N5402SP router -> Cisco Linksys E3000 router -> PC

plug from rg lan to linksys lan.
set linksys router ip to 192.168.1.2
set linksys dhcp svr off if you want
the huawei will handle all traffics now
internet ip on linksys can remain empty

I think this approach suits you better.

I tried to use my iPad to connect to the network. At the iPad's setting screen, at times it shows that it has successfully connect to the network but when I enter Safari and try to use it; it says that the device is not connected to the internet.

What did I do wrong?

Btw, what is the difference between turning just the RG's DHCP on compare to turning both the RG's and the router's DHCP on? If both the router's and RG's DHCP is on, do they have to have the same starting and ending IP's?

before you start using apple devices, have you tried using a computer to do testing instead?

if you only have apple as your device, possible to grab the following for us then
ip address
subnetmask
gateway
dns1
dns2

next, do you have more than 255 devices at home and need 255x2 to do the work? if no, I see no reason to keep both dhcp on. if you really wants to have both on, follow MarineX's steps on post #1 will be better.

and it will help to screencapture your current ROUTERS config page.

wifi? if wired something is. having issue in your network.

I upgraded to MaxInfinity Ultimate on Monday and only got to test on Tuesday night

torrent and filehost download from mediafire wise I dont see much of a difference from my Maxonline 16mbps cable which I upgraded from.

Maybe cause I'm using the Huawei HG256s as my router as I don't have enough space nor power points in my tv console for the engenius esr9850 router and the Huawei at the same time. before the ONT HG863 and this came I was using the Motorola SBV5120v modem with the Engenius Esr9850 routers as a pair.

I need the VOIP to connect the telephones in my house.

I'm using the other engenius eSr980 on the wall above my bombshelter as a repeater. They are connected via a TP Link Switch as I asked my contractor and friend to help with structured cabling to all the rooms.

Page loading on HWZ and facebook and general internet is instant for once..

I don't see anything else I can improve on even with superadmin access to the HG256s page only I can save the config file for the router settings.

Yes...I'm using NewMedia Express to test the speed.

er the joke is when the other engenius esr9850 was the main router the speeds for the torrent and mediafire was a constant 1.76MB/s but with the Huawei HG256s as the main router the speeds kept fluctuating from 2MB/s to even 100kB/s. I should have stuck with my 16mbps cable modem if thats the case
