Hi all,

I have a NAS connected to my router.
LAN IP is 192.168.0.17.

I wish to do port forwarding so that I can access my LAN client (NAS)

What parameters should I enter for
WAN port range and server port range? (See Pic)

that depends on your port no.

on.

1. which port you want to talk from outside
2. which port you want the firewall to talk from

if you know nuts, set them both the same.

I thought I should set 80 (HTTP) for both. but I cant verify if it works.
should it work?

I thought so too.... nbzz... speedtest so fast... download stuff kns.... **...

Your speed test result was based on your local server (locally in SG), so you'll be able to achieve your max speed. You can try to test against overseas speed test servers. SH limits your international Internet speed. Hence, if you download from anywhere outside SG, you won't be able to achieve your max fibre speed.

You should see it mentioned on SH website the different international speed that you're getting according to different plan, e.g., 100Mbps is limited to only 15Mbps, lower than maxonline premium.

Well, this is true that you should be able to achieve the capped international speed. I was able to achieve my max capped international speed when I was on maxonline. So, in that sense, no worries.

Just subscribed to maxinfinity. the guy will be here in a week's time to set it up,

hmm from what i know, downloading from torrent uses international speed (which is capped) but according to the SH guy i spoke to, he said if u use hosting sites such as rapidshare or netload (which is what i use), the download speed will depend on your local speed and not international speed. is that true?

another question: i alr have rj45 wall jacks with internal wiring at my home in each room. how to check if the internal wiring is it done using cat 5 or cat 5e?

thanks in advance guys

It will depend on local speed if you're downloading from the file share hosting servers which reside locally in SG. Now, the question is, how much chance do you have of having those file host to have servers in SG?

You can open the wall socket and check the label on the cable (if there is one). Anyway, it doesn't really matter whether it's cat5 or cat5e. Your international speed is only either 15Mbps or 25Mbps. ;)
