Gribber,

red_december only mentioned that there was a time that his broadband was slow, but he did not mention explicitly that it was because of his ISP, so whatever you highlighted and trying to argue does not exist.

If he explicitly said that his broadband was slow cos the ISP was slow, then you were right to make your point. Having said that, it is true that in that scenario, most likely is the router. However, as mentioned, red_december was not blaming the ISP in his statement.

Anyhow, chill out man.

Anyway, for the benefit of others:

Broadband
Alternatively referred to as high-speed Internet or wideband transmission, broadband (bb) refers to telecommunications that provide a variety of channels of data over a single communication medium (wire). Today, there are a wide variety of broadband technologies available in most areas, below is a short listing of some of these services and companies that provide it. Keep in mind, where you are in the world these carriers will change.

Your ISP is the one that provides you with it. Not your router.

Currently playing a game that the server which is
Located in Korea then notice that their international routes really suck big time ... 600ms...at evening ...

I have called their technical person to assist ...
Yet they can't solve this problem and keep pushing problems away they dont even willing to change routes n they insist to have reverse trace route from the game admin before they hange routes really so inflexible
so I have ask VQ for help before signing up their plan ... The ping is 90ms ... I also ask MR to help the ping not
That good but better than StarHub...however they willing to change routes if I signed up their plan.

Have been with StarHub for about 5 years and really disappointed with their services. I still have one
More year of contract to go so I will just signed up with VQ/MR for time being and when contract due I will terminate it.

I really can't wait Liao.... Think of the lag in game make
Piss off and also way they handle things .... Suck big times...
What they only can do is called me back again n again asking have I got the trace route from the game admin... And best game admin no reply or ask me use VPN. My cousin using singnet adsl got better than ping me... I am like what he'll going on with StarHub...I do tried Singapore VPN Server... Immediate the ping lower to 80ms ...

Another "push" is... if I change my SH plan now to 100Mbps... need to pay ard $128+..... **... I pay ard $69+ for SH now.... I add MR for $59....total is $128+..... so if i wanna go 100mpbs... might as well sign for MR..... ** SH... pui...

Hi hwz bros, needed ur guys advices

Today starhub come install the 100Mbps fiber optic broadband.
The connection is TP->HG863->D-Link DVG-N5402SP->Computer (WIRED)

I did a Speedtest (WIRED) at speedtest.net and broadbandspeedtest.starhub.com/speedtest/ average i get is 30Mbps. Never reach above 50Mbps.. For Wifi using my laptop inside my bedroom, i Get 16Mbps to 22Mbps, Iphone even worst 1 to 6 Mpbs.

So guys, needed your advise, do i need to buy another router to setup as MarineX post #1 to improve my speed and wifi?

Wireless can understand.... but wired... :s11:.... not to horse behind canon.... should have gone for MR/VQ... but anyway.... if you want, can get a better router to do bridging, like what I am doing now.... speed... well... a little faster I guess... cannot really tell.... but spend so much for another router... psychologically got to feel it is faster... :D

Another way is do what some bro is doing.... subscribe to MR/VQ and have 2 ISP in your home.... :s8:
