On the whole, how is Starhub Fibre? Reliable? Any frequent disconnection? I am on the cable 100mbps but thinking of switch to MaxInfinity 100Mbps.

I called D-link 24hour technical hotline. Guess what? That sexpert claims SH DVG N5402SP can hit speed less 10% transmission loss. so for my case MIF Elite i should expect 120-130Mbps on wireless. So he troubleshoot lor.. shoot shoot shoot change beacon rate all the rubbish. in the end say my set faulty. WTF... what kind of technical team is that. So tomorrow starhub coming to change new router for me.

really lame... i dare confidently say even if they change 10 D-link routers also cannot hit speed of less 10% transmission loss with that kind of crap hardware.

i going see tomorrow how that sexpert who's coming going to make my wireless 120Mbps. if he fails... hehehe..

I also have similar experience. My WiFi speed on my DVG-N5402SP initially was 30+Mbps, then 2 days later fell to 12Mbps. I called D-Link hotline and even after reset, I still get same WiFi speed. The hotline says I should be getting above 50% speed. So they arranged for exchange.

When the SH technician came, we tested and WiFi achieved 30+Mbps, he says this is the "standard".

Now, I turn off the SH router's WiFi, bridged my own D-Link router DIR-825 and use the WiFi, I get 47Mbps and better coverage around my house.

Most likely the problem is at your end, test it out using other web browser.

BTW, I don't have issue with private sites since the day I switch to MIF. IIRC, the initial problem was with client being non-connectable.

It happens for me for all browser. I test with IE 9 and Chrome. Even install firefox just for this issue. Alas! also same :(

And it should not PC issue because it happens on both before and after a clean format on a new hard disk. Seems like a proxy issue izzit? Cos got a site after I register it send me an confirmation email which I cannot successfully confirm because it detect a different ip from sign up. Which I believe usually is the proxy.

Could it be you have enabled some user settings on the site itself as most local ISP/RSP utilize some form of transparent proxy. BTW is your BT client connectable?

PM the site so that I can help to verify on my end.

SH came to change the router. LOL the guy say he work for SH 2 years never see before can hit more than the standard about 40Mbps. Then i call D-link kpkb they transfer me to the L2 technical guy. Guess what?? then they change the word deny the router can hit less 10% transmission loss. the L2 technician claims the router can only hit 50% to 70% of the wired speed.

to give SH some face. I did hit 60Mbps on wireless with this new router. but it's way below D-link claims

the SH guy beside me hear liao stund talk to Dlink ask what about if my plan is 500Mbps. D-link replied can hit 250Mbps. WTH........ SH guy say will report to higher HQ and see how.

anyway i heard from someone reliable (you can guess who) SH got plans for new router. probably some AC one. they better introduce it fast.

I think if you use your own router, you solve ur issue way faster. The DLINK Router, is just crap, which I hear many others say too.

The SH guy say normally 40mbps is normal. so after change router i did hit 60Mbps but unstable. maybe laptop wireless card got some effect too. i dunno. but imo the wireless is crapy no where near what D-link claims

no where near is correct.

if you want good wireless speed when you are close to your router, go get the ASUS black diamond series ba. :)

now considering asus lor..

this whole issue with SH and D-link thing is that SH push to D-link. say they only warranty wired connection and they not really trained in wireless all the rubbish. then D-link keep say until as if their router can fly. wireless is 50% to 70% wired speed or possible only 10% transmission loss. So in the end keep going circle. Sh push to Dlink. Dlink push to me say maybe my laptop lousy. WTH..

The fact is that even the contractor who came to install don't have proper equipment or macbook or whatever good laptop to test the router. how the heck we isolate the problem case by case basis? in the end SH waste $$$ nvm but i wasted my time.

Why do he needs a macbook to test the router? macbook for 1 is already a junk to begin with.

A relatively simple yet cheap windows notebook can fulfill the purpose already.

But i do agree for 1 thing is that they don't know their stuffs.

Hi guys, anybody here signed up for the Home Hubbing fibre pack about 2-3 months back? It was advertised as about $77/78 per month. I want to know what is your monthly bill like because the bill I received seem damn wrong. The home hubbing pack already comes with Starhub TV so I don't know why am I still billed for Starhub TV. I subscribed to the 3 basic groups + sports only so paying more for sports is understandable.

And the worst of all is I called in to cancel digital voice, not only did they not cancel. I got charged $8.90 when it should have been $2.10 so I strongly urge all of you to check your bill carefully. Going to eff them upside down tonight.

Now starhub just refreshed their hubbing fibre and rebranded it as HomeHub. 100Mbps starts at $73/mth so I'm going to ask them will the price apply to contracted customers.

Not as if I am putting it into the router.

Think the best line I've heard from SH so far was when my wired speed drops to about 83+Mbps (Direct to ONT) with my Real Time Replication hovering about 300KB/s..:eek::eek:

They kept insisting to do speedtest on their speedtest webpage and point out that Maxinfinity Ultimate average is 60% as stated, so my connection is fine..:eek::eek:

This issue still not resolve yet lor.. Grrrr!!!!
