But i'll still have to change a usb adapter right? Since i'm using a low end one and the speed is restricted

nope, you are suppose to get a pair of homeplug, one to your router, the other to your desktop. Homeplug uses your house electrical line to run the data through. Do not use it on multiplug adapters and stuff, it will lower the speed. Directly plug it to your power socket. You can get those with passthrough if you have not enough socket.

Anyway I tried using the Aztech WL556E as I have one at home, my speedtest results actually dropped, what did I do wrong?

Don't use an extender. Every wireless extender will half your network speed. To get the best network speed is either to run LAN cables to your desktop, homeplugs, get a router with dual-band capability (this will mean that your wireless adapter also has to have dual-band capability). In your case, I would suggest getting homeplugs. Make sure that all LAN patch cables that you use are of CAT 5e and above.

eh, you only need 1 DDNS.
that's all.

use the same DDNS together with port no.
eg. your ftp is on 21
ftp://DDNSaddress:21

that is all.

ensure your portforward is done correctly.

and btw, try not to use port 21.

your choice?

try to avoid: 80, 21 and 443.

any other port is fine.

eg if you are using port no. 9999 then whenever you connect to it you will have to explicitly put ftp://DDNSaddress:9999 to connect into it.

im sure that my portforwarding is pointing to my NAS, but im still unable to connect thru ddns.. is there anything i should take note. i had already change the port..

remove the DDNS on your NAS.
yes, use the DDNS on your router

you can execute the command on the e other internet

i wonder how come starhub cant use the type of ont that M1 provides for their customers whereby u can connect your own router to the ont directly... voice (tel) connect to ont too...

in the 1st place do you know that starhub uses nucleus connect as an opco. by default they do vlan tagging on their fiber broadband. if u want to use ur own router, u have to tell them to remove the tagging. but then u will lose the voice service, unless u use their RG or use the cable modem for voice.
