The supplied dlink is not too bad but is nothing to shout about. Get ur own router u should see aBT 10-20% improvement.. but if u getting the cheapo regular stuffs then it's abt the same. Relocating ur router may get better results.

I am thinking to replace the supplied Router D-Link "DVG-N5402SP" with Asus Router.

The following 3 number of Asus Router, which one is the best in terms of quality?

1. Asus RT-N56U Dual-band Gigabit WL-N Router..$189
2. Asus RT-N66U Dual-band Gigabit WL-N Router..$279
3. Asus RT-AC66U Dual-Band Wifi W/L-AC1750...... $339

Remarks: Price from Fuwell dated 16 March 2013

RT-N66U is enough. I also switched from the lousy D-Link router. Furthermore, AC66U is draft AC. Unless you want to use something that is in beta, it's better to stick to 5Ghz Wireless n. It should be able to handle most of your Internet usage at the very least

if he buy not enough, are you gonna compensate him for it?

manaeater is correct. it is not about to compensate or not. it's about getting something you really need and meet your requirement in a more sensible way. there is no point getting a draft router. since the specifications are bound to change when if it ever become a real standard. Draft = not a confirm standard yet. haven't draft 'n routers in the past let you learn a lesson? So don't even get started about being future proof. not to forget in order to utilize the draft AC mode, all your wireless devices / cards / adapters have to comply with the same standard. Means you would end up spending way more than the price of the router listed price. And if you don't get those adapter means you are not going to utilize the AC mode at all. And how many device with build in wireless actually have that draft AC atm? Then why spend that extra for something that you don't even use or worst to say have no use to you? unless you are really filthy rich and just want to throw your money around for no reason, then be my guest, it's your own money after all. lastly please dont keep having this mentality thinking most expensive means best. things are hard to say one. I do not mean the AC66U is a bad router either. never use it before so I cant comment on it's actual performance. but for sure the extra you paid for mostly goes to something you won't even utlize. one thing for sure is N56U is a proven product that is highly recommended by a lot of people. I personally also using one which I got it since launch. thou I cant say it's the best router. but it does rack high up there when comparing to many dual band routers out there.

Any SH Fiber users here owns a PS3? Need help to test something. Recently I have been having issues trying to download game trailers from our local PSN store. Game demos and DLC stuffs seems ok. Ironically only game videos seems to be giving the problem. Try downloading one of the more recent game trailers like Ninja Gaiden or One Piece and see if you can get it downloaded successfully or do you get HTTP Error 400 return code. Appreciate if someone here can help test on your end. :s12:

none actually own a PS3 that can help try? :s11:

Im definitely sure I wun ever need to compensate him :) the fact that he's asking us to help him choose amonst the 3 routers shows that he doesn't fully understand the function of each type.

Would he utilize the AC function? I cant tell unless he tells us his needs, budget etc.

Based on his above post, I tink It would be most sensible to guide him towards N56U.

if got ac but cannot use ac, then buy one with ac for what.

either way, to end this off nicely, all 3 of those mentioned routers are good enough, only depends on his budget.

technology is changing at a much faster pace than you expected.

even mobiles are equipped with AC considering that the technology become "mainstream" just like what? few months back?

anyway, if budget permit stick with ac. else go and get n56u like the bros said.

I am using n56u though because my budget doesnt permit :(

oh and if 1 observe, n56u is like outcast by Asus already. Every new feature for the higher models are usually not introduced to n56u

Could somebody answer these question?

Any speed test screenshots for 150 Mbps?

I am very eager to know too.

please read 2 posts before yours to look up the definition of ac. As for 150Mbps, I can't show you. I'm on 100Mbps
