On Starhub 150Mbps plan
ASUS RT-N56U + Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6205 (5GHz)

Speedtest.net says my upload is 50mbps, but Starhub's speedtest says it's 100mbps, so is symmetrical upload applied or not?

Planning to switch from M1 to Starhub. Is the performance better? At least Starhub has much more channels I could watch compared to mibox.

thanks for the clarification on how the ONT works...

it slows down in terms of torrent connectivity, I believe. I've read countless reviews about dlink's routers incapability to handle torrent connections (i usually set my max connections to 999999)

hmm.. i use Dlink before... so i will beg to differ.

it all depends on how you configured it.

Might want to tune some settings on the router before you fork out $ on a new adapter. 5GHz is better. Also try changing your 2.4G wifi channel to a "less" congested ones to avoid interference (area dependent).

Okay, will do. Currently, I own a Atheros AR922X... not sure if it's sucky or what, because I've always been getting a pretty weak signal. I wonder if getting a homeplug is a good idea??

If you have line of sight with the router, use 5GHz, if your device support it.

If there is walls blocking and the distance is a bit far, you can only use 2.4Ghz.

I'm partially blocked by a wall. Hmm

Any frequent disconnections? As for router I am using Asus N56U which serves me well over the years.

once it passes the threshold (havent been able to find out how much that is), the internet will just stop working completely for like 1 minute, then it will be automatically restored...

i wished i had a asus ac66 hahas

anyways, the plan came with VOIP, but the router doesnt have any telephone line.........

starhub is a troll hahahas

My ac66 just spoiled because I tried connecting directly from my PC to ONT it works fine. Since I have the samknows box also, I wanted to try if I can connect my second PC to the samknows box as well. Because as far as I know, it just doesn't has wireless but all 4 LAN ports should work fine. On the second PC, I'm having the unidentified network issue with my network. Yet, if the second PC is connected directly to the ONT, it works fine.

I meant when I connect via router, the router goes into a power cycle once every few minutes because I thought it could have been my ethernet adaptor on my mobo which may be faulty. I'm not saying the router was spoiled as a result of connecting my PC directly to ONT. The direct ONT connection was a result of a troubleshooting to pinpoint which device is faulty.

Anyone getting slow speed to european sites today? I am watching UK online TV and the stream keep on buffering.

Just wanna check if it is a starhub issue, then rule out and do a step by step troubleshoot.
