Is there a reason to u suggestions to boycott starhub as you suggested ?

Read this and then you decide if you wanna sign up with them. I believe you will run far far away.

- In early Oct, alot of websites won't load. A call to their tech support and the CS guy said nothing wrong with their network and i should send them a traceroute for them to follow up. Was promised a callback on the same day. Sent them the traceroute as requested and receive no update or callback after that. Read on hardwarezone and the thread below to realize quite a number of users affected. Worst part is their technical support didn't even know their network is having issues. Problem lasted about 2 days.

Major issue with Starhub Fibre today and technical... - StarHub Community - 43099

- Just last weekend, users were again affected by slow speed and not able to access a number of websites. I couldn't logged in to my vpn, streaming video sites and games. This is recent so just go to their facebook and you will see a truck load of complaints and abuse. I was affected on Sunday but read that some users experience slowdown for 2 days.

- I had a sudden disconnection yesterday, powering router on and off didn't work. So i called the techical helpline and as usual was promised a callback. Only this time i demanded a callback or i will escalate the matter further to contract termination or monthly waiver until i get a callback and satisfactory solution to the issue. For the first time in a month they call back telling me some tweaking was done to the backend and it should be fine now. I thought "ok this is simply too good to be true". Well i got it right, after their so called tweaking, my StarhubTVanywhere didn't work after that. I called in again today and the problem is still not solved at this time.

Take note that all the above issues happened in just slightly over a month.

If you plan to use oversea video streaming services, then read this too:

Problem with Starhub Fibre & 3rd party DNS service... - StarHub Community - 29526

You will have issues using Unotelly and the likes.

I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere. Don't be tempted by the hub discount or other offers because poor network, blocking of sites and terrible technical support will hurt you in the long run. Final decision is yours. Cheers.

So less ppl to clog the pipe :s13:

i think the pipe is not clogged, but SH's implementation is just bad. so is their customer service. so far, my experiences with them are "positive" only when i enforce certain rules and conditions on them. otherwise, they will just brush your problem aside when possible.

Just found this:

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?id=129011692114&v=wall&story_fbid=10151595906287115

Seems like this happened in September. This means that they have some kind of service disruption every month for 3 months straight.

My issue is also still unsolve. I called them again today and was given the round around until one guy finally admitted that because they tested TVanywhere and it works on their side, the earlier reps didn't bother to update me. At least this guy was honest and after some narrowing down of different factors, it might not be an issue at my end. Still waiting for them to solve this issue but i believe they will give me the run around again. If this continues i am ready to escalate and magnify the issue further until they really sit up and solve it. Anyone with similar experiences or unsolve issues with Starhub, feel free to pm me

So one can simply conclude that Starhub customer service doesn't give a damn if you have a problem at their end.

I cannot recommend them to anyone, certainly not with this kind of poor customer service attitude and issues occurring one after another.

I can't recommend them neither, and it's not just from the customer's point of view.

Starhub should just pay good $ to employ people with substance.

All I could see now is they are spending $ on incompetent people

agree and literally agree also. where are the helpdesks today? I'm guessing not in Singapore but in Phillipines, Malaysia etc?

do they even have a local helpdesk anymore?

i think small possibility there might be as some of the folks I spoke too sound singaporean then again Singaporean accent is NOT UNIQUE as the government likes to put it, in fact it's almost the same as malaysia and other south east asian countries.

we only got the rojak mix of language and lah lah lah at the back. accent wyse it's not unique.

good?

this is average (what it's supposed to be)

any readings below this would be ****. that's for wired tho. wireless connections wise, unless you test right in front of the router, any other results can be affected by other conditions such as interference, distance, obstacles, etc.
