how do i activate the ddns to do that? I'm using the Asus RT-N56U, entered my details for the ddns and i still cannot connect to the vpn via the ddns address. Is there anything else i need to do?

Asus routers should have their default free DDNS server @ user.asuscomm.com

Try setting it up directly in the router interface. make sure your firmware is updated first, then go into the interface and under network map, directly under the IP address there is this ddns. click into it and configure from there.

Contract ends only in Sept. I spent 15mins explaining to the Starhub counter at Amara that i wanted to change my ONT to the new version that supports Digital Voice direct.

Conclusion given: NO. Unless you sign a new line.

Sigh .. i've been a Hubber for 8 years already. This is how Starhub treats its customers.

and that is 1 of the reason why i am stopping the services with them as well.

Hi Bieffe, I did all that before posting this reply already. Tried all kinds of common solutions.

I also did Unchecking "Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors" and "Predict network actions to improve page load performance" as some others said.

The issue is not only on my computer but also across other PCs on the network. I tried to look into whether it was the new Dlink router's issue but all settings seem fine.

tried changing the DNS?

is your DDNS working for your router's gateway?

Hi Gribber, what happened was that my previous Singtel router was set at 192.168.1.1. When the Starhub guy came over, I asked him specifically to reuse back 192.168.1.1.

I thought this will minimize the network rollout issues.
Was I wrong? Was this the reason my network's internet connection is wonky?

that is gateway ip or rather your local area ip. Which is unlikely the cause of the issue.

Previously I am also facing this issue. Lets hope I will not get it as well later when I'm home.

I have been emailing them regarding this slow connection since March!

Is there a way to change the provided dlink router?
The dlink wifi coverage is poor in my 4 room flat

On VoIP?
If not, request for direct ONT and purchase your preferred router at your preference.

If on VoIP, u can still do the same for the router part as above plus a motorola voice enabled modem (approx $25-40 at hwz mktplace). The VoIP modem is for your voice service.
