You better ask for an AC router switch or go direct ONT. This model you took is a piece of junk.

Hope you don't need to use their technical helpdesk too much, otherwise get ready for more junk coming your way. I have a connection issue which is still unsolved after several months.

Wanted to take homehub 500 for new bto after staying with myrepublic for 2years. to enjoy the hubber benefit.;)
is their current ac router good or not, cuz i still have an existing n66u to use.
cuz if lousy still can change to 3000 reward points.
eh wait, can we forefeit the router for reward points? :s8:

starting to miss static ip...

afaik they wont allow us 'trade in' the new default router to get 3000 reward points, this was what they rejected me last time, but anyway it is better call their hotline to check.

Just got my starhub 1gbps installed along with the Dlink 868L router.

Any kind souls can feedback the quality of this AC router? Or should i purchase a new ASUS AC router to replace it?

If u are using Wired.. The router is ok..
Its the wireless that cannot make it..
Try out and see if there is any blind spot in yr house or the wifi signal is weak..
I change to Asus becoz it got better wifi range and more configuration to play with.

Alright thanks for your advice, i would test out the wifi signal tonight.

If we were to use our own ASUS router, we need to call in starhub hotline to have them change some settings on their back-end right?

Mine was a direct ONT.. So it plug and play ..
No setting required.

I suggest calling them now and notify them of this issue. Am i correct to say that you router lights are all good and you get some sort of data disconnection every 10 mins or so? You also have problems loading web pages?

Oh i see.

I have tried out the Dlink 868L, wired connection able to attain around ~930mbs down/up

Wifi connection yet to test out the real AC speed as i currently do not own any AC devices haha.

But the range seems okay, can reach the same room previously reachable by my old ASUS router.
