My 1Gbps getting downloads of 220mbps and upload 170mbps

I think it could be due to your ASUS AC68U router's setting.

I am still using old RT-N66U and this is my speed via wire.

My router (N56U) always trying to renew/get leased IP address, anyone had this similar issue?

I can't connect to internet since Tuesday evening.

TP->ONT->N56U

:(

I'm running n56u purely as a router. Face no such problem.

Folks,

My router is dual bands. (DLINK 850L)

My wired connection to my PC is forced to use the 5Ghz band instead of 2.4Ghz band.

How can I force my wired connection to use the 2.4GHZ band so that I can use the 5GHZ band for wireless connection?

Thanks.
Your situation is not clear...If you are on wired connection, then it should be connected to the ethernet network adaptor, not wireless adaptor.

Wired dont use those band you've mentioned
I reckoned you meant wireless.

So your question holds no sense.

Go to Advanced Settings > LAN > Switch Control > NAT Acceleration and set it to Auto.

Switching off NAT Acceleration has been known to limit speeds to about 300Mbps.

Report back your results.

<< To auto switch wifi >>

Anyway, most of you might have known this. I just wanna share.

For those who have subscribed to the Dual Broadband package and have an Android phone or devices.

So, you have 2 wireless APNs at home. To make them auto switch based on stronger signal when you walk around your house, you can install this awesome wifi auto switch app from Google PlayStore, Best Wifi.. It's a free app.

Set the Minimum signal strength to "8" in the app.

It works perfectly for me. With it, one doesn't need to switch between 2 wireless manually. :s22:

Hi guys, jus upgraded my maxinfinity fibre to homehub 200, starhub came to do installation today. Got dlink 850l as my router, and when i tested speed, i got 150mbps+ when standing beside it. 5m away speed drops to 70mbps+, and in my room it went down to 30mbps+... Dunno is it starhub backend issue or dlink router issue...

How many band do you have with your HomeHub 200 package?

2.4Hgz and 5Ghz with your HomeHub 200?

5Ghz band has a very high speed but with very short signal distance. That probably explains your scenario.

The 2.4Gz is so call a "normal" speed band with longer signal distance.

Which band did you tag on to, wirelwssly?

I tried 2.4ghz n 5ghz. Previous router I used dlink 868l can get up to 70mbps on 5ghz. Maybe it's starhub side unstable?

Probably. StarHub back end has not fully "activate" your bandwidth yet.

Tomorrow test again lah.

Wireless has nothing got to do with STARHUB. Get your facts right.

Check your router configurations, if need to, replace it. There is a reason why people spent hundreds to get better wireless signal and speed.

I'm testing with my previous routers. And I think there's no nid for such language. If nid be I will get another new router. Right beside router I can get speeds of 120mbps+, but in my room it drops till abt 40+. Is the dlink 850l wireless speed worse than 865l? Maybe I sld get Asus n56u

what do you mean? What language am i using?
The problem is you guys are barking at the wrong tree for all of the wrong reasons.

N56U is a pure N Router. You will not get anything higher than 150Mbps if your range is bad.

The distance between your room is 1 factor
the objects between your router and device is another factor.

If you save $ to get n56u and if things doesn't improve, you are merely wasting money because the n56u router was so yesterday.
