I recently saw the notice in my SH Prepaid app that my plan will soon be upgraded but considering all the issues I’ve been reading about this plan, I don’t want to migrate to the new plan. Is that still an option or will I be forced when it’s my time?

If forced to migrate, might as well go to eight, which is cheaper and offers more right?

I’m looking for a true prepaid plan like the current one, not one with a monthly fee, what other options would you recommend
From the looks of the market situation - none. :s13:

That’s what I thought 😭

Porting to postpaid like Eight/SIMBA will be more worthwhile once the transition and changes take place for the prepaid plans offered.
Eseentially, prepaid becomes more for tourist...

Indeed this seems to be the case that prepaid plan may only be useful for short-term visitors.

But take note Starhub Prepaid Star plan may be different from the normal Starhub Star plan.

Let's wait and see how the migration from Starhub Prepaid to Starhub Prepaid Star plan will go.

We have four Starhub Prepaid cards now and mostly likely I will cancel three of them in the end. I intend to migrate one of them (used by my daughter now) to the Starhub Prepaid Star plan to see how well it is.

For me, it's not so much about the migration process, but rather the fact that I now have a monthly fee for a line that I rarely use, so preferred the old model where I just top up once in a while as needed.

can you port from StarHub Prepaid to eight directly? eight's fan still says no prepaid (https://www.eight.com.sg/faq-port-in). I recall SIMBA allowing prepaid port in but must go down to the center

Port in my mum's starhub prepaid to Simba last week. Very fast, next morning under Simba liao.

  • Switch to SIMBA $20 free credits is applicable to all postpaid & prepaid plans, except for Business plans, port-in submitted between 7 to 31 March 2025. $20 SIMBA credits will be awarded by 11 April 2025 to numbers successfully ported-in between 8 March to 4 April 2025.
  • SIMBA 1-for-1 Recharge promotion is valid from 13-23 Mar 2025 where FREE $20 credit is given for every $20 recharge. The FREE $20 credit will be rewarded to your SIMBA wallet by 28 March 2025.
  • FREE gift with $30 spend on SIMBA Services. All free gifts are subject to availability on a ‘whilst stocks last’ basis. The free gift cannot be substituted for any other item, cash or credit.

did you have to go down to their service center or just do everything online? eSIM?
If porting to SIMBA, if lazy/stay far from service centre then just get eSIM.
Otherwise, going to SC will be much more reliable since any possible issue can be answered by staff on site.

Prepaid no option to port in online

    • If your current service is a prepaid mobile, you have 2 options when porting in to SIMBA Mobile.
      • Option 1: Port in to SIMBA Prepaid plans at SIMBA Service Centres or Dealers only.
      • Option 2: Port in to SIMBA SuperRoam10 (postpaid plan) at SIMBA Service Centres or Dealers only.

Right, thanks for pointing out that its prepaid. :s13:
Online registration if choose 'Port-in from another telco', warning message below reads :s13:

** Please ensure that Port-in number matches registered owner details, as per current Telco. Failure to do so, would result in Port-in rejection. Port-in of Prepaid mobile numbers is not supported online. Please visit one of our Service Centres or Dealers to port-in your Prepaid number.
