I meant it's no longer cost effective for most RSPs when you consider that the single fee for Syfe REIT also allow you to DCA daily/weekly, but if you were to RSP on other platforms, the transaction fees alone are already more than the max of 0.65% on Syfe a year. DBS Invest Saver is 0.82% per transaction, so it doesn't make sense to do it weekly since that's over 3% in fees. While with Syfe, you pay that max of 0.65% and you can DCA daily if you are so inclined to do so.

Even using iFast, it's 0.08% a month, so close to 1% a year, which makes it still more expensive than Syfe.

All this is not including the fact that Syfe auto-reinvests dividends.

The 0.08% charged by iFast and 0.82% charged by DBS is a one-off charge.
Hence you should not really multiply it by 12 months and arrive at 1% for iFast.

E.g. From Jan to Dec, I RSP $100 each month. For each $100, iFast charges me $0.08. For the entire $1,200 (across 12 months), I would have paid $0.08*$1,200 = S$0.96.
Hence the one off charge is S$0.96/ S$1,200 = 0.08%. (not 1%)

Same for me. Weighted average investment around $12k over around 18months. But losing around sgd2.5k in fx loss.

But 2X lower?
1000 USD -> 500 SGD, how is this even possible.

If I cash out now, they will pay me based on the the SGD amount?

Hi, I intend to invest my SRS funds (currently $10k) in StashAway and top up that amount or 15k max roughly every year. Noob question - any recommendation on the best option + risk index I should choose on the app to grow my SRS funds:

1) General Investing, 2) Retire on time and 3) Earn income and returns in SGD

Thanks :)

Anyone know how do SA process their trades? I placed in a bit of money during the dip on 12 Jan, but it seems like the trades executed were at a price higher than market close on 11 Jan?

You can check what's the ETF day trading price range during 12 Jan. Of course they cannot trade on 11 Jan pricing haha.

If you want to time the market , you shouldn't use a roboadvisor, period.

Off course I know they can't trade in 12 Jan pricing. They let question is what time do they place the orders? Is there a methodology behind it or what?

It is just like unit trust. Whatever time they place the order, you get the weighted average NAV of the portfolio as of end of the day.

I believe they maintain one portfolio for each risk level and everyone with that risk level will see same performance. When you change risk level, they migrate you to a different portfolio internally.

They may not even actually buy/sell for you. They just see what is the net inflow vs outflow and then buy one shot if there is inflow and then allocate fractions to each portfolio and each person.

All this buy/sell and rebalance is done by software and it very efficient.

It is not like unit trust. Unit trust always execute based on NAV. ETF is dependent on execution price. Which we have no transparency on how they actually do it.
