STI ETF contain 1.28 % weightage of singapore airlines, with the rights issue, what will happen to the rights of the shares of singapore airlines inside STI ETF?

I suppose the ETF will also subscribe to the rights since it should have SIA shares. Not sure how this works though.

Sideway didn't give any indication of drop or increase right?

I am not good in technical analysis. Seeing that the release of 1st qtr report does not have much impact, i would say the market is pretty stable now. Some pros here may have spot something with their indicators.

Not confident of plowing the remaining funds allocated to the ETF yet , uncertainty which I’m not willing to risk my savings . Looking for more definite clear economy indicators since tourism and hospitality is a goner this year

STI ETF is a safer bet.

Now is the best time to accumulate.

Hold for a few years.

If you wait for STI > 3k, your expected returns will be lower.

STI ETF is still -21% YTD whilst NASDAQ is positive and S&P500 is -10%. Singapore stocks are not recovering as fast as US stocks.

STI is very heavy in financials and property, both sectors have also been doing poorly on the s&p.

STI is just not adequately diversified, its nothing more than a straight bet on Singapore's banking and property sector.

3k is just a psychological barrier for quite a long time.

STI is not richly valued in terms of current PE.

So I don't think current level will stay.

STI is heavy on banks and property, P/E is not the right way to value them.

I have been loading up with China as its reopening before SG. I suspect that China will outperform STI.

After China market races ahead while STI lags, I'll then switch my buying back to STI ETF :s13:

You are right in a way , I’m trying to avoid “bottom picking” at the same time And must self realise that if this ETF is a goner it means along with the whole country lol , giving till end July as a timeline consistent with my belief , was 10% in 2 weeks Ago , now adjusted to now 50% . By end Jul will 100% of my funds saved up till apr
