Hope the guru here can help with this question.

Is it easy to buy and sell the sti etf considering the low volume?
Would you be in a situation where you wanted to sell at market price (or maybe a very little lower) and queue for whole day with no buyers?

Thanks.

Volume is low? i thought is quite healthy.

To your second question, it really depends on what price you are queueing at? if you are queuing at a very high price, then regardless how high the volume is, you will likely not get any buyer.

As what Wood above already said, there is a market maker for the STI ETF. Notice that usually ~3 bids around the last done price, there is always a bid or ask of 100k units. That's the market maker at work. Hence you can always sell the STI at worst ~0.3 cents below market price if you really need to. If you need to sell >100k, the market maker will top up the bid queue almost immediately.

By the way, you need access to market depth to see the 100k in the queue, which I was talking about.

STI has been disappointing for the past 10 years. Best to continue to DCA. Ignore the fluctuations.

But must also diversify and buy global stocks or ETFs.
