@yo2020 i'm running it on a new device only abt 5 days old, how fast should bootup be? i haven't adopted any changes so i'm nt sure what mode i'm actl running it in.

@persentio i practically don't have any additional programs to load on startup since it's a brand new rig, is 30s rly too slow? i actl have an instant boot prog on my desktop for my asrock h61-u3s3 mobo, but i thought it's only designed for HDD users with slower boot? will it be faster than my SSD?

what measures can i take to speed the boot? thanks to all the inputs from all bros arnd :)

boot up speed is determined by many factors, ram, cpu, amount of startup programs, antivirus and drivers, even though SSD will show a significant improvement from your traditional hdd.

some fast boot programs basically tweak the registry so that the non-critical services starts loading only after the user has loaded Desktop, hence creating the effect of fast loading. not sure if your instant boot program is similar. perhaps too, it is merely booting into a stripped down linux environment?

If I were you I would only start counting the time from the moment you see the "Starting Windows" screen. Not from the time you switch your computer on (since there's POST and what-not that isn't really an indicator of your SSD performance)

But, if that's the time you are already counting from, then yup that's quite slow..

Good price...considering Sandisk Extreme is using toggle nand.

3 yrs warranty, I presume? The feedback on after sales support wasn't very positive in their forum pages though.

Generally, toggle > sync > async in benchmarks

But whether the speed difference can be felt in day to day operation is subjective and differ from system to system.
