Toggle is the fastest type of MLC NAND by a considerable margin. There is a larger performance gap between toggle and synchronous than there is between synchronous and asynchronous.


So....... remember to get only those ssd that has toggle nand.

I'm more concerned about stability/reliability since most SSDs perform pretty much the same for day to day tasks. I don't mind foregoing some speed difference for reliability.

My Intel 320 and Crucial M4 have been awesome. No problems at all. I'd probably go back to these 2 brands if I need to get another SSD.

In this case the Sandisk ssd price at $218 for the 120 gb version can considered cheap?

Most of the decent 120gb SSD from various brands hover around this price.

Read reviews, firmware/warranty support and your budget will help you decide whether it is value for money.

1st thing to check is to go to the bios during startup.
check that "OnChip SATA Type"="AHCI" n "OnChip SATA Port4/5 Type"="As SATA Type".

Yes , understand but if toggle nand is top of the heap memory and selling at this price , why not consider this brand over the other brand ...just my thinking.

Up to you. For me, nand chip is just one factor in buying the SSD. Warranty and Firmware support is also important.

That's why I bought Intel 320 instead of the faster SF2281 SSD drives despite it being only SATA2.

Why is it US$118? thought it is listed $134.99 in curcial site?

What is the data transfer kit for? It does something like cloning the old hhd to the SSD?

It's a SATA to USB converter, with cloning software included.
