This one "Paragon Migrate OS to SSD 2.0" ?![]()
What OS are you using right now?
Check if the drive's current alignment is correct.
I have used freeware Clonezilla before and it retains the source drive alignment on the cloned drive.

The benefit of trim will only be evident when the SSD is almost full or all the NAND have been written at least once, when garbage collection operation is necessary.
Windows 7 support trim natively, so there is no need to "run" it manually. Everytime a file is deleted, the OS will notify the SSD that the data is no longer needed.
Was thinking of installing 64gb as boot for winxp but was fearful since no trim. Hows the performance so far? Current pc working so don't wanna spend to upgrade just for ssd and xp is stable.

From what I past experience, I used acer recovery disc and the alignment is correct. Can I assume is safe to use acer recovery disc ?
Anyway is Intel 330 reliable enough ? Planning to get Intel 330 180GB.
I don't think 128GB is sufficient for me but 256GB's M4 price out of my budget.
Sorry for being so annoying.![]()
ok guys give u guys this 3 options
intel 520 240gb
ocz vertex 4 256gb
plextor m3pro 256gb
which will u choose and why??
intel 520. 5 years warranty.. SF controller, reduce wear by reducing the amt of data to be written to the NAND as a result of compression. speed improvement is secondary bonus advantage, IMO.
no confidence with the other brands..![]()
intel 330 120GB is like.. $209?
And M4 256GB is.. US$199 as posted in other threads.. SGD$60 difference only maybe..
Warranty wise, quite troublesome.![]()

Windows 7.
I am going to re-installing the OS because I am afraid that I might have applied "tweaks" for HDD previously.
However, my main concern is whether does the acer recovery disc will provide a normal Windows installation or just recover a clone partition.
My current plan is to reinstall OS on current HDD using acer recovery disc then use a migration tool to move it to SSD.
You should try using the recovery disc on your SSD first, it may work. It's always better to do a clean installation. If that fails, then you can try the method you mentioned.
