Just got myself a samsung 840 pro SSD, and installed the magician program today, in there they say there is a new firmware upgrade - current firmware is DXM04B0Q, and the latest firmware is DXM05B0Q. Is it safe to update the firmware using magician?

yes it is. When you click update it will say that you need to restart/shutdown. When you click that it will shutdown your box and not boot up. leave it for 5 minutes then boot up. you are good to go..

I recently bought the Samsung 840 SSD but it didn't come with a mounting bracket.

Anyone knows where to find a cheap one? Was quoted $10 for a plastic one at SLS :eek:

Yea, I also feel so. Further more, they have started to accept payment in SGD and also self-pickup... I should have waited for some more before making the purchase. Could have saved on the shipping charge. So far I am happy with the performane...:)

but SSD very light weight, i only used double-sided tape ;)
