Just to share with you guys, if you are using a laptop (for my case a MacBook Pro) and you just want to get an SSD solely for OS and programmes, you can actually get an optical drive adapter (or caddy), swap out your optical drive (DVD-RW, CD-RW, etc) and install a 2nd HDD or SSD.
For my case I wanted to use my SSD for OSX and Adobe Creative Suite and don't want to clutter my SSD since OSX Snow Leopard does not support TRIM yet. With the optical drive adapter I will throw in a 7200rpm 2.5" HDD and use it for my media and large working files. This will allow 2 HDDs or SSDs at once in the small frame of my laptop, but I have an external casing for the DVD rom since I hardly use it.
