Just contacted them regarding my order and it's on backorder. Supplies will come in end of the week and item will only be shipped next monday. Was quite surprised by their prompt reply. I'd say I'm still happy about their service.

Hi.. hv u got a confirmation email? I try to order and felt something wrong..

1)ask me to pay via paypal before asking for address or email or anything
2)prices of other SSD is not cheap except this one.. which is like super cheap.. wrong posting by the website maybe?

its just too cheap to believe for a 120g OCZ Vertex2 leh

Singaporeans always have a habit of saying things are super cheap. Frankly SSDs are never super cheap, that's why they are not in the mainstream yet. Mainstream computers don't come with SSDs.
Just don't say super cheap when you're holidaying overseas, you'll be mugged for sure.

at first it felt super cheap from the HK website compared to local store here in SG so I thought its was a mistake from website. But as others had pointed out, OCZ is around that price outside Singapore.. so It was all cleared ...

OCZ is not able to be posted directly from AMAZON...

anyway does anyone know how much postage borderlinx/Vpost charge for SSD for orders from AMAZON ?? Last time they use a big box.. i really hv to pay through my a$$ for postage!

Crucial is able to be posted directly from AMAZON for SGD380.. (Assume no tax) .. but I dont want to pay so much as I not really hardcore PC user.. I rather get OCZ for cheaper (pls i hear Crucial uses SATA3 which is a waste as my Mobo only SATA2)

Anyone order OCZ from Amazon and via borderlinx? if so.. how much is postage?

(NEVER get from buy.com... they uses huge boxes to ship small things)

Try using HopShopGo service. You can request for repackaging if original packaging is not appropriate to cut down on shipping. Its slightly cheaper than Borderlinx..Also using DHL as courier...

Thks for the tip... like that safer ...

now thinking.. OCZ or Crucial .. haiz.. if get Crucial means hv to go get a SATA3 controller.. else no point going for Crucial

Crucial is USD30 more then OCZ .. but from what i read.. the different is really not that much... USD30 + price of a good SATA3 controlller = more $$$

actually, US is the best place to buy electronics. They have the best prices around, and sometimes there are rebates, which makes it a better deal. The return policy is very attractive. If you think SSD is not for you, it can always be returned. No buyers remorse. :0

Just to share with you guys, if you are using a laptop (for my case a MacBook Pro) and you just want to get an SSD solely for OS and programmes, you can actually get an optical drive adapter (or caddy), swap out your optical drive (DVD-RW, CD-RW, etc) and install a 2nd HDD or SSD.

For my case I wanted to use my SSD for OSX and Adobe Creative Suite and don't want to clutter my SSD since OSX Snow Leopard does not support TRIM yet. With the optical drive adapter I will throw in a 7200rpm 2.5" HDD and use it for my media and large working files. This will allow 2 HDDs or SSDs at once in the small frame of my laptop, but I have an external casing for the DVD rom since I hardly use it.

Can forget about rebates, usually only applicable to their locals. Usually it's mail-in rebate not directly credit back to your CC.

Guys thks for all ur comments !!!

I already ordered from amazon and using hopshopgo ... its more expensive than buying from that HK website linkeComputers but i got better confident from Amazon (so far my good experience buyin from HK are Cameras only)..

price is USD240 (SGD312) .. so assume shipping SGD20-25 total is SGD337 for the 128G OCZ Vertex2

Didnt want the Crucial as I hv no SATA3... and SATA3 (good one that is) cost quite a fair bit, dont think i want to pay another $100 or so just go hv that..

Now its a Wait and see time...

anyone know where to get Win7 cheap?

Cool! That's a nice solution.
Something to share with my MBP friends and poison them to get SSD. :)

Congrats! Amazon/Newegg/Linke it's all good. :s13::s13::s13:

You might even get yours faster than me. Linke Computer's Vertex 2 is on backorder, can only ship Friday/Monday, so I'll only get mine probably end of next week.
