your computer is as fast as its weakest link. sounds familiar?

for many years, hdd is the slowest device. so, instead of buying a high priced cpu or ram, or buy an expensive cooler to OC your cpu, u should spend that money on fast hdd. previously it is velociRaptor, now SSD.

u get a lot more performance boost in hdd than a cpu or ram.

Plus: power efficient, no need to defrag, quiet and cool. u won't hear a thing, but the spinning hdd is noisy.

time to once and for all stop referring sata6GB as sata3 cause it can be mistaken as sata3GB get it? :)

Huh!?!?! I don't see anything wrong...... officially, it IS called SATA rev 3.0 or SATA-3 for short. SATA 6Gb/s is the transfer rate. Even if you read the different IT publications, the 2 terms are commonly used by different authors.

If you say it can be mistaken, then if I say SATA 3, I can also mean SATA 3Gb/s which is SATA-2.

this is why the standards commission is trying to tell ALL to drop the term sata-2 sata-3 and start using standard reference sata 3GB/s, sata 6GB/s from now onwards. There are still stubborn ones that continue with the confusion:s8:

From the horses mouth :)

Q11: What is the proper way to refer to the upcoming SATA 6Gb/s technology?
A11: When referring to the specification, use “Serial ATA Revision 3.0 specification” for the first reference. For successive references, this can be shortened to “SATA Revision 3.0.” Do not use “SATA 3.0.” :D
