How much is the Strontium Matrix?

Leaning slightly towards Intel despite slightly slower speeds compared to the other 2 models due to:

- generally good rep for reliability
- 5 yrs int'l warranty
- retail pack comes with mount kit
- future firmware support?

Positives for Strontium from my POV is only faster speed @6gb ( and support for local manufacturer? )

i am intending to upgrade my asus laptop 2.5" SATA hdd with ssd. budget is around 200++ sgd, for an above 100gb ssd. Can any recommend any reliable (in terms of data retention, customer service, write/read speed also, but secondary concern) brands for me to start reading up on?

What's your bootup time before..? If before was 3mins, than I think 1 min is good enuf.
And try removing excessive startup program, it should help.

And I am not sure about the exact standard in which the time is being measured. I heard some saying that the time only starts when the first Windows animation appears & ends when your desktop is ready for use.

This is the boot up time of my system with WD VelociRaptor 150GB. I just installed windows7 on my ssd, so there should not be excessive startup program?

Hmm, did you do a fresh install or a harddisk clone?
For me, changing from HDD to SSD created a huge difference in the bootup time. Might be because my old HDD is really quite old & slow.

I did a fresh install leh. Installing was FAST compared to a normal HDD. I'm going to try update the firmware to see if it helps. What do you think?
